While some diners found the food lacking and service subpar, others raved about the welcoming staff, exceptional cocktails, and delicious dishes. The location is convenient for happy hour, providing affordable menu items and drink specials. The atmosphere is trendy and cool, with a variety of tasty appetizers. Overall, it seems like the Flying Pig is a hit-or-miss destination, but those who enjoy it appreciate the ambience and unique dishes.
Loved the vibe here wandered in for an early dinner and luckily it was Happy Hour! The food was delicious lots of smaller 'tasting ' options (we tried many! and our server very welcoming. The place filled up fast and everyone was loving their food and drink. Will definitely be back when we are in Vancouver again.
Aloha, cruising Gastown for a cold beer voila stumbled upon the Flying Pig. A chain in the area, nice. Consistent cold IPA beers, yes. Loud 80s music, made you almost get up and start dancing lol. Of course needed to try a few Canadian pupus of truffle Parmesan fries, truffle Mac n cheese and Bison carpaccio. Wow, yum broke da mouth appetizers. I love Canada!
In the heart of Gastown, we went for brunch on a Saturday and it was half full. Not busy not empty which is nice. Quickly greeted and seated, it was a nice start. The food was pretty good. I had the side truffle Mac and cheese and shared the side Brussels- so delicious. I went into a food coma right after that. My friends had a burger and also a breakfast plate which was huge!! I've never seen such a big breakfast plate before.
Not a good day at the flying pig. It seemed like the server was overworked and inexperienced. The food was okay but not what you would expect at the price point. Maybe another day would be better.
This place is incredible! It's classic but you don't feel restrained, very casual vibe and also as a great place for a date night. Food was amazing. We went straight with two entrees one Mushroom Pappardelle and one Steelhead Trout. The pasta was perfectly creamy and had a great texture. The fish was fresh, tender and well seasoned. It came with rice which was tasty too. Service was great. We had two drinks and the total price was not even $80. This was one of the best places I've been to over the past year.
