What Layla Schuster doesn't like about The Flying Pig:
As a young couple visiting Vancouver for the weekend the flying pig grabbed our attention for the positive reviews it had. As we entered the restaurant we seemed to be looked down upon for being younger. The waiter we had was rude my partner asked for a gimlet made with pineapple juice and instead got a lecture of how a traditional gimlet was made and started offering alternatives, I asked for a drink not a full drin... I’ve surprisingly never been to The Flying Pig even though they have two other locations (Gastown and Olympic Village). Finally made it out for happy hour in Yaletown!. A few specials they had that evening. We dropped in on an early Thursday evening (around 5:00pm). People were already taking advantage of happy hour which is weekdays (3:00pm to 6:00pm) and weekends (4:00pm to 6:00pm). View all feedback.

read moreThe Flying Pig in Vancouver offers a mixed bag of experiences according to recent reviews. Some visitors, like a young couple, found the food to be bland and the service to be lacking, with one of them feeling that they were treated poorly due to their age. Others found the restaurant to be decent but forgettable in terms of food quality, service, and overall experience. However, there were also positive experiences shared, with compliments on the attentive service, delicious food, and good value during happy hour. The ambiance was praised as well, but a drawback was noted for not taking reservations for larger groups. Overall, it seems that The Flying Pig can provide a hit or miss dining experience depending on personal preferences and expectations.
The hostess is NOT friendly. Wow! I wanted to ask a question and you would have thought that I slapped her. Not impressed.
