They moved from across the street to Central at Garden City. They're located on the same side as RBC. New place is cleaner and brighter with the same staff and good ol'pho Noodles and Spring Rolls but with lots more parking. Good food, good value, friendly and fast service. This is still one of our favourite Pho place. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Thai Son Restaurant:
Went there on a Sunday evening, and it wasn't very busy. There was one large group of 8, our party of 6, and 3 other small tables of 2. The waitresses were friendly enough, but the food took way too long to come. I waited about 20 mins for my bowl of pho, and 2 other people in our party didn't receive their rice dishes until almost 30 mins after we ordered. One person ordered 2 sandwiches...one was served and eaten b... View all feedback.
I had a fantastic bowl of pho soup at this restaurant. It was better than any I've had in Vancouver, and I've visited plenty of places. My partner ordered the vermicelli bowl #34 with grilled pork skewers and spring rolls, and she thoroughly enjoyed her meal too.
We were quite impressed when this was first opened a few years back but we have since eaten many Vietnamese and in Vietnam too. We made an effort to eat here on our revisit to Richmond and found that it is very average this time. Besides, it is a cash-only establishment now.
Im a regular customer of this restaurant but there is a new guy who took the order which is sooo RUDE. The tone of his voice sounds mad while taking the order. He is even on his cellphone while taking an order from me. Im waiting for my change but it seems that he didn’t mind me. When I asked how long will I wait cause its a take out, He speaks so loud and say ....”I said 15 mins (Pointing at the door) you wait outside not in a polite tone. I felt so stupid the way he talks to me. I told him straight that I don’t like the way you treat your customer. If this guy will regularly handle your restaurant you will loose your customer.
Food was not that bad.. but the service was horrible. Like who gives you attitude for asking for water? For her to scream “omg.. really” like don’t work on a restaurant if you don’t like serving people. PERIOD Obviously, that bad service ruined it for me and will never be back here. I’m always happy and always smiling... for the older auntie serving, quit the business cause you’re only hurting the restaurant.
The interior of this restaurant is clean and filled with natural light. The menu offers a selection of basic Vietnamese dishes with limited options for chicken and beef. I decided to try the BUN THIT NUONG CHA GIO, which is Grilled Pork Spring Rolls served on Vermicelli with fresh vegetables. I have had similar dishes at other restaurants before, with different protein options, but this version was well presented. The pork had a good taste but was a bit fatty. The portion size was generous and satisfying. The flavors of the dish were enjoyable. The service was decent and the prices were fair.
