...best of all, it's cozy here, in one of East Van's well-known neighbourhoods, Collingwood. Near Skytrain, just 1 block north. A big one too lol.Ok, back to the food.Been here a few times, here's the winners:1. Dynamite roll: fresh avocado, nicely-pressed rolls. Didn't fall apart so easily like others.2. Volcano Roll: lots of crunch, chopped scallops and best of all, their signature sauce. Not as spicy as I'd like, but a light kick, with some sweetness to it.About a 15 seater, with 2 booths on the left side.Friendly staff.
What User doesn't like about Sushi Taku:
Website shows nice Tofu dishes but there are none on the menu except the Box which is only served until 5pm. The cook would not make Tofu Teriyaki for us which was very disappointing. The vegetarian dishes were good. The restaurant itself is very run down and small. View all feedback.
We wanted take out sushi ? in our neighbourhood. We walked down and read the menu and within 10 minutes we had our order. The sushi and sashimi was good and fresh. The staff were friendly and the takeaway was nicely packaged. Price was reasonable especially considering the soaring costs for operating a restaurant today. Give them a try.
Didn't get a picture because I was too excited to eat. Hole in the wall type place with only 4 tables inside, but super friendly staff, great food, and menu is still very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.
Love finding a local eatery that is tasty, friendly, and good value. There are only four tables, we called and they said we should be ok in 20 mins and they had one ready for us. The service was super attentive and warm. We had miso, a sashimi combo, the mango special roll and a mix of maki. The sushi was fresh. Fish was soft and rice was perfect. Room was air conditioned which was nice on such a hot evening. Parking can be challenging but otherwise a near perfect meal.
Great sushi near Joyce station.Came here for lunch with a friend, tried the gyoza and lunch sushi special. Good value for the quantity, loved the gyoza too although my friend would have liked some more garlic flavor in the gyoza. The vegetarian sushi (avocado, veg) was good, and I would come back here again, especially for the lunch special. We also got complementary tea which was nice, and were greeted warmly by the server.Enjoyable experience, would recommend.
Cute little Sushi Taku restaurant, and the food i ordered black swan sushi, soooo good !! The service fast and excellent.
