Was Foodies Foodgasm at Suika a mag?
Always a good dining experience here. Took my friend Darlene who had never been before. Server was lovely and the staff and atmosphere is great and upbeat. Thanks! View all feedback.

What JacquelineC dislikes about Suika:
NO PARKING!!! beware. There is no parking on the street before 7pm. Good luck fighting for street parking on the side streets because it’s a residential area. We circled around for 20 min in the rain. The food was fine but if I knew, I would have went elsewhere. Food is not THAT amazing for me to have to go through with that. So stressful. Love it. I arrived alone with no reservation on a Monday night. Was seated promptly by the friendly hostess although they were jumping busy. Lively boisterous atmosphere with table seating, patio, bar or sushi bar. James Bond projected on the wall, music turned up and the staff merrily shouting orders and welcomes....Soft soft soft tuna belly...so good I wanted to order more...Assorted sashimi of salmon, tuna and scallop was beautifully presented. Chilled ramen noodle salad with lettuces and a delicious house dressing. Perfect for the hot humid weather. I spied on the dishes being rushed out past me and it ALL looked fantastic. Everyone looked so happy. No wonder it's busy. GO! PS the bartender put down everything he was doing just to run through the busy restaurant, open the door for me, say thank you and good night. That kind of personal attention is super appreciated by us solo diners. Thank you, will be back!!!

Spent 3weeks in Vancouver, this place is by far the best japanese restaurant i have had. way better than Miku in my opinion. the hamachi cappacio's smoked favor matched perfectly with the mayo(this is very difficult for me to say as i hate westernized sushi that filled with mayo) but the dish was perfect, the combination of favor was spot on. tuna tataki with the homemade chilli sauce, thats a toouh of genius, i could have three of those. the quality of the sashimi is of very high quality. the rice they serve with the grill fish set, thats what i call a decent bowl of rice, fat grain, fluffy, subtle hint of sweetness, rice of very high quality. this place can do without the pressed sushi which always destroy the texture of how the rice should taste like in a proper sushi, but pressed sushi seems to be extremely popular in canada. only other minor suggestion i have is it would been perfect if they serve the hot food after we finished the raw food. but overall this place is by far the best japanese i have had in town. the appretizers are not only best in Vancouver but comparable to the best. i will be back.

Went here on a friends recommendation. Food is so good. Portions are quite small but reasonably priced so good for sharing. Staff are super friendly. Will be back.

We've been to Suika Japanese Restaurant more times than we can count, and let me tell you they've never let us or our guests down! Suika has a solid regular menu, seasonal specials that keep things fresh, and drinks that are as beautifully crafted as the food. Every dish is a masterpiece, but a few plates really stole the show. Aburi Salmon Pressed Sushi: This dish is a flavour explosion! Fresh, silky salmon paired with perfectly seasoned rice it's like sushi heaven in every bite. Tokyo Oxtail Ramen: Rich, savoury broth infused with slow cooked oxtail, topped with tender noodles and fresh ingredients for an authentic Tokyo ramen experience. Fantastic dish! Tenderloin Sizzling Steak: The steak arrives with a sizzling hot stone aside, ready to cook to your perfect level of doneness right at your table. Juicy, tender, and bursting with flavour, it's a steak lover's dream come true. It's a must order! Overall, Suika has earned a permanent spot in our hearts (and our stomachs). We highly recommend it it's no wonder we're loyal customers! Food: Should Try! Service: ‍‍‍‍ Kids: Yay! Price: $100 $150 each person (dinner birthday celebration) Presentation: Parking: metered parking on the street Tips: Make a reservation they're always packed. Plan your time if you want dessert; there's a 2 hour seating limit. Have an extensive cocktail menu with plenty of options. Great place for birthday celebrations, and it comes with a fun, energetic vibe!
