Just hunting for a quick lunch and came upon this little restaurant! It was a lovely day so the front wall was open to the little patio and we sat outside taking in all the passerbys. A little noisy as it is a busy street and too bad big trucks are allowed to use it.Not large, but the food was great, friendly staff and quaint decor. My only complaint is the one small bathroom. I was hoping for a fix of donair or Schwarma but was subjected to a combo of ,in Anthony Bourdains words, nonpremium meats in the combo platter .The rice was hard, meat salty and greasy and little in the way of sauce to wash this down. I was craving middle eastern food when I remembered Sofra. Turned my car around and just came over. As usual, everything is very tasty, and the staff was very nice. Excellent for a nice Sunday lunch.
Excellent chicken shawrama. Ordered a meat pizza once and it was so dry because they didn't put much cheese in it.
Sofra is my go to comfort food restaurant and it has the best chicken shawarma in Vancouver juicy, crispy, no overwhelming sauces. They also have really nicely seasoned rice, perfect salad, and the best fresh cut fries…I’ve been ordering the same chicken shawarma platter for the past 6 years I hope sofra comes back soon!! It’s been missed dearly by the community!!
Smallest portion of my life for the biggest price for a rice plate. Huge upset! Have to get another lunch now I’m so hungry. My colleague is equally upset.
