our first visit to saigon xua in yaletown. honored by a very polite host and sitting in a beautiful stand. the restaurant is quite large very modern very clean. our waitress katherine was very polite, has checked the menu with us and helped us choose beautiful items we enjoyed. very good service throughout the night. our starter shredded chicken salad was delicious. will be back for sure. What User doesn't like about Saigon Xua:
Service fell apart as soon as we walked in the door. Very unorganized and terrible table service. Orders were not written down when taken and had to be repeated multiple times. Staff seemed to talk to each other more than customers and was no connection between table staff, bar and kitchenS such a disappointing New Yearâs Eve. View all feedback.
When we went, was pleased to try the vegan menu, we were very underwhelmed and the server was very sweet, but obviously quite inexperienced.
Crispy spring rolls and my sister ordered their calamari and it was very good, not chewy. My combo B has pork, Vermicelli, veg, spring rolls n fresh shrimp roll. The pork looked like meatloaf, it was ok but would have been better if it didn't look like chopped meatloaf.
I visited last week with sis, food was good, I'd vote 4.5 stars as the sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste. Deep dried rice cake is crispy, would love if there was more papaya pickled on top. Viet meatballs is amazing, juicy and tastes as original one back home, love it. Also, chicken rice is a must try imo. Overall nice restaurant, good food.
Returned several dishes. Soup special was terrible. Minced meat (park and prawn) terrible…hot coffee was ok but no worth ordering again. Would not recommend.
