I have been to the South Van location a couple times and it was damn good. This was my first time at this location, and it was spot on in its consistancy. I had the chorizo burger this time. It was much better than I anticipated. The chorio was ground up and mixed with the beef perfectly. Not overpowering at all, yet still noticeable and really good. Excelllent service as well. What Jazmyn Predovic doesn't like about Romer's Burger Bar:
The burgers weren't up to typical standard we're used to from Romer's. Both were greasy and gave us upset stomachs. The salad was smaller than usual. Disappointing experience. View all feedback.
Last night in vancouver my travel companion suggested that we visit again after the way to the past year. we decided to try a happy hour without reservation. we sat on a table of 4 in the center with the possibility of my friend. steeve with us. we have chosen beer from the happy hour menu 5. from the regular menu claude ordered the burger and I chose the fish and chips. very delicious! will come back next year at my visit. sanam was our server. she was friendly and professional.
My friend and I had tickets for a concert that we were really happy. we live outside the city and do not go in vancouver, but that was a special night for us to enjoy our first concert together. Post-Covid. the waiting staff was nice, we have no complaints about them. what ruined our night was the manager. my friend and I ordered the dragon breathing wing and the meatballs to start and order a burger to share. the restaurant gave no wet or a finger bowl to clean our hands after he had eaten chicken wings, so my friend went to the washroom to wash his hands. while he was in the washroom, the fire alarm went out in the restaurant. I will also add that I still sat at the table that ended my wing when the fire alarm went out and not a single member of the staff did something when the fire alarm went out, the manager stood right next to my table when he went out and she said nothing to myself or one of the other mozen in the restaurant. the fire department showed and everyone continued as normal, which was quite worrying as there was a possible need. again my friend was in the washroom when the fire alarm went out, so he quickly washed his hands and came up to the table again. because there was no need, I went to wash my own hands. I would like to point out at this point that I have 2 Bachelor degrees, one in criminalology, and the second in forensic science. what the manager did next was so wrong on so many planes. while I was in the washroom, the manager decided that because my friend was the last person in the washroom, he was shed in the washroom, which made the fire alarm go out and had accused him of it. they asked for his id and contact information, which he accidentally provided, because he tried to be cooperatiw. I've been with my friend for four years since high school. my friend is not forgiven. he has no vape. how can a person who has no vape, vape in a restaurant bathroom? Despite our incessant please this fact, the manager would not listen to a single word that we have said and repeat the same mood repeatedly that she smells in the bathroom vage, the staff smells in the bathroom vague and they saw vaguely cloud. I have not seen or advised anything of it when I went into the washroom and I suspect that it was a case of confirmation failures that influenced their view. the manager still complained that they would have to write a part of their jobs as manager and report before location and that the owner would be in contact with my friend to pay any kind of money that could issue the firefight. again they accused my friend, a paying patron of the company, of doing something he did not and were completely involuntary to consider any alternative hypotheses to the Scenario. this is by no means a proper investigation and in fact how people are imprisoned for crimes that they have not committed. fire alarm can be faulty, people smoke often the backs of a restaurant, I know people who serve and it is not unusual that waiter in bathrooms to vape (not to do the waiter, just say) also that is a restaurant where is cooked, it could not be the kitchen that trigger the fire alarm! all this is to say that the manager of romer has not only ruined our meal, but our whole night by doing us in front of the entire restaurant for something that was literally impossible for my friend to have done, it was rude, unapocal and completely unwilling to hear us. I would never return to this facility from this ground. P.S. I saw the bartender break a glass in the ice box and not clean up, be careful.
Distracted service burnt food? What’s not to love. Once our server finally arrived to take our order he stopped 1/2 thru to pull out his phone read a message and reply. Really? Burger and crispy fish burger arrived burnt. Not sort of maybe...burnt but burnt. Of course no one came to ask “hows the meal?” Fries looks like they had be shredded into little stubs. Ridiculous food.
Well, I been there twice and I'll never go back to this place. First the service very distracted. I asked for a hot sauce and they didn't bring absolute nothing. Second I found some hair in my burger, disgusting!! I waited for more than 20...minutes after I found the hair, because nobody from the staff ask how is the food or you if need something, literally horrible experience.
Romers restaurant in the River District has a fabulous location but I would never recommend this restaurant Our walking group used to stop here for lunch but each time there would be a problem with one of our orders so we no longer go there...My friend organized a lunch there this week so I decided to give the restaurant another chance I ordered the chicken burger When it arrived the bun was so stale hard and cold I couldn’t cut my burger in half The bacon inside was also undercooked I mentioned the bun situation to our server to no avail I have talked to other friends who also say they don’t go to this restaurant anymore There are so many restaurants to chose with great burgers that there is no reason to go to Romers I will NEVER go back there
