We had a fantastic lunch at Rodney's Oyster House. The oysters were amazing they were super fresh and 8 different types to choose from. The mussels were just as good. We all enjoyed our mains also and the beers were quality too. All in all a fantastic meal, I'd go back for sure when I'm next in Vancouver!
This is my first time here and my friend recommended it. First of all, staff are extremely friendly and you could tell that they enjoy working there too. Atmosphere was great. I had two dozens of mixed fresh oysters which were amazing along with glasses of sparkling rose. Price is very reasonable. I would high recommend this place.
Both my teenage sons love seafood but often seafood restaurants tend to be 'fine dining' that can be a bit formal and stuffy for them. Here the food was excellent but in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. We had brilliant service even though the restaurant was roofed out with customers. I read some reviews that said the service was arrogant but we found it warm and friendly. Great value for money. We would definitely go again.
When I went over 10 years ago, my experience was pretty bad so I have never went back again. But my friend just spoke highly about them yesterday so I gave it another try. It was me and my sister. No "low tide raw oysters" today because their supplier could not meet their demand today. Alright, I understand supply can be short although I was a little disappointed. We ordered regular priced one anyways and at least there are better selections. So we ordered 2 of each type they have and hoping to find what we like before ordering more. Ordered some non-alcoholic drinks because both of us gotta drive. For food, we only ordered 16 oysters and 1 mussels steamer to begin. Drinks came immediately. The restaurant was only half full and we waited roughly 30 minutes for the steamer and 45 minutes before the oysters finally came. While it took them so long to get 16 oysters (I still wonder why it took so long), they only gave us 15. Our server was supposed to give us another. We took it slowly as we waited. When we had only 1 oyster left, another server tried to collect our tray. I told him "excuse me, we are not done yet. There is still another one here". He took it with his hands to my plate and took the tray away. I said "hey, our order missed an oyster and it is still not here". He did not even looked at me and just walked away. Maybe 3 mins later, he came back with another one and put on my sister's plate without an apology - while all the lemon wedges and horseradish were taken away. Cool, clearly they wanted us out. So instead of ordering more, we just asked for our bill and left. Slow service, rude servers. After 10 years you still disappoint me. Food is great but happy hours is competitive in Vancouver and it is not noticeably better than other oyster bars. I better spend my money elsewhere that I feel like a customer. Never again.
