I can say this is the top night club in Vancouver the reasons why is : sound quality is amazing good equipment staff is freaking friendly according to my experience, music selection thinking need to be varied not only hip hop for 2 hours then moving to latin hits i dkt, but overall it is awsome place to have fun and meet new people View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Republic:
Went on a Friday, the club itself wasn’t that busy but the bartender IN THE VIP SECTION was so rude to me and my friends. We were dressed nicely and were very polite and she was disgustingly rude to us. The DJ was amazing though, but the bartender completely ruined our experience there. View all feedback.
The staircase has been relocated to the corner, just behind the check-in area. The largest dance floor is downstairs, but unfortunately, it was closed during my visit. You'll also find the biggest bar in that area. Upstairs, there's a mezzanine that’s about half the size of the downstairs dance floor, complete with a smaller bar. A fun addition is a secret room featuring lasers and a third bar, located towards the front of the pub, which has large windows perfect for people-watching on Granville. The music in the main and mezzanine areas is spun by a DJ, who has a unique setup on a platform above the ground floor bar. The layout does strike me as a potential fire hazard, but who am I to judge? Additionally, there’s a giant screen playing old-school comic-style visuals. The music is predominantly house; don’t expect any live bands here.
I had a fun night out, but I think I was just too tired for it. I'm not really the party person I used to be. We did a bar hop and eventually ended up here. It's similar to any nightclub, but definitely has a fancier vibe compared to older places like Roxy. There's a live DJ situated above the dance floor, which adds to the atmosphere. The lines to get in are pretty long, but the bouncer is very helpful. For example, my sister and I walked outside and a guy approached us who seemed really drunk. The bouncer stepped in and helped us get rid of him, or we wouldn't have known what to do. Aside from that, it was a fun night overall. Plus, there's an upstairs area as well.
The cover was $12, which I believe is pretty standard for clubs, at least in Seattle. The atmosphere was a bit slow at first, but by the end of the night, the second floor was quite lively. The venue has two floors, each featuring a dance area, tables, and a bar. The DJ is positioned in a box/platform between the two levels, and the second floor overlooks the first, making it feel open and inviting. The crowd was diverse, mostly made up of people in their 20s, and the male-to-female ratio seemed pretty balanced, at least from what I noticed. However, my one complaint would be the drinks, which were pretty weak. I ordered a vodka soda, and it seemed there was barely an ounce of alcohol in it. I even saw the bartender pouring and he was quite stingy with the liquor. Typically, a proper drink should contain a full shot (1.5 ounces), and in Seattle, many bars will even serve closer to 2 ounces. I did hear from a waitress and a bartender that they tend to pour less alcohol in Vancouver, so I guess I've been spoiled. Overall, I would recommend this club for a night out with friends to dance and have a good time—just make sure to drink before you go out to save some money. Also, the bathrooms were decent, which I always appreciate in busy bars and clubs.
We were too early, not many ppl were there however I like the music, hip hop, there is no small table for ur drink or stand by. We have to hold our drink the whole time. Only 2 table on the second floor, and u have to buy bottle service and stuff. U can't always stand by the bar and leave the drink on it.
I 'd honestly would give it a 3.5 stars but not 4 because the music was nice but not great. Lots of radio music and repeated the same cardi B song three times during the night and don 't get me wrong, I love Cardi B but when the same song keeps playing and even twice in a row I don 't know...bouncers and staff outside are pretty welcoming and nice. Bartenders upstairs wasn 't too friendly but not too rude either at first, my friends and I all got 2 shots each since we pre drink earlier. Dancing floors are decent and a couple VIPs were there. Some guys at the VIPs came to our group 4 times during the night asking if we want to drink with them not quite understanding our No 's. A couple guys were very touchy and two guys particular keeps coming up to us and one of them keeps groping the three of us out of our group of 4. We move away and find new spots a few times but they eventually find their ways back to us again. I mean that tend to happen in clubs anyways but those guys were way too persistent and annoying. DJ is in the middle of the first and second floor and two bars. When we went to get water after a couple hours the bartender was kind of rude. He gave my friend a glass of water which was all poured and ready to go in a row behind him anyways and no one was getting drinks at that moment because it was quite busy earlier. When I asked for it too he gave me a look and put the glass of water down pretty hard and sort of slide it to me. When my other friend asked for hers he was like why are you all getting water?! with a very agitated tone. He then turned and whispered to the female bartender beside him. Some girl and her two other friends (mainly because of her) for some reason got escorted out of the club half way through the night. People spill their drinks a lot so we got a bit on us and some glasses on the floor as well. They do clean up the liquid pretty fast for our safety though just not the glasses as much. Overall, we had fun and it was a decent and enjoyable night but it wasn 't amazing.
