The Red Burrito is a must-see stop on any trip to Vancouver. Great tasting food, excellent staff, and a convenient location! This is a small, simple shop with no frills - just right! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Red Burrito:
This is a good place to stop in for a quick, tasty Mexican meal. It’s sort of Subway-style, in that you order your meal and then go through the short line to let them know what you want on your quesadilla or in your burrito. Portions are very large, we thought, and costs are very reasonable. Somewhat limited selections, but enough to please most people, from vegetarians to meat eaters. A casual restaurant, all seats... Portions are very large, we thought, and costs are very reasonable. Somewhat limited selections, but enough to please most people, from vegetarians to meat eaters. A casual restaurant, all seats are high table style and there are not many of them. Many folks order and take away. Staff are friendly and willing to explain. The music is loud and so it’s a happening, young folks kind of place.
Stop in for lunch at the Red Burrito on Commercial at 1st Ave in Vancouver. The location is easy to find, right on the corner. However parking can be a bit tricky on Commercial depending on the time of day. It's metered parking on Commercial which is common in Vancouver. The food smelled so good! The staff were very pleasant and served up an ok dish quickly. I had a chicken burrito, which was huge! Could easily be split between two people. I felt the food was ok, the chicken was a bit dry and had a couple hard, dry pieces that I did not eat. The menu is simple, reasonably priced, ordering is cafeteria style. There is bar style seating at the front window which is great for people watching ;-)
We had a hankering for Mexican food and it was around noon time so we searched for the Red Burrito which we were told as near 1st Avenue. The menu is fairly sparce hovering around variations of the burrito. The home-made chips and guacamole are fantastic.
Having wanted to eat at the Red Burrito for so long, I finally had the opportunity yesterday. They are located on the corner of First and Commercial, a terrific spot for visibility, but not so much for actually getting there. I ended up driving down the alley and then back up Commercial and found pay parking on the street.Fast service, friendly staff and reasonable prices are great, but sadly the food is just ok. I was disappointed. I had the chicken burrito, but tasted like a rice and cilantro wrap. My son had the spicy beef burrito and he said it was flavourful, though not too spicy. It is a great location, and if I lived in the area, I might go back to try different things, but there are too many choices on Commercial to go back for average food.
