Never been here before. Nice little restaurant tucked away in this west side Neighborhood. The decor is nice, seating is a little tight but comfortable. Lots to choose from the menu. We ordered a usual dish like satay skewers and some of their crispy pork/Chefs special chicken wings/fried rice and mixed veggies. All was very good and tasty. Great place if you like Malaysian Food. What User doesn't like about Penang Delight Cafe:
The Penang Delight Cafe specializes in Malaysian cuisine. As with many Asian restuarants this cafe also closes between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. We discovered that the curry and mango dishes were quite nice. View all feedback.
So we may not be Malaysian, but our friend who took us here is
Been here several times with my boyfriend and we keep on ordering the same food. I think we just love the classic taste, sumptuous and exquisite taste. We'll try a different dish next time. But guys the food is awesome.? you should try it. ????????????
Food here is pretty authentic. We ordered Penang Assam Laksa, fruit Rojak, chicken rice and Hokkien noodles (cooked with black sauce). They all tasted very authentic. I would definitely return again on our next visit to Vancouver.
Around 1pm we arrived at Penang Delight to order some Malaysian cuisine takeout.Sevice was very quick and prompt even though we were there at a peak time.Choosing the Mango fish ,a whole crispy fried white meat fish accompanied with a mango and red onion sweet chilli sauce. This dish was one we had tried a few times before and always enjoyed the perfectly cooked fish. The other dish we wanted was mango prawns but the on duty staff suggested the Sambal Jumbo Prawns instead so we did.The fish really was excellent ,the sauce is a little too sweet for us though. The sambal prawns were a bit disappointing as didn't deliver a lot of flavour and tasted b bland. Forty dollars is a lot to spend on a lunch takeout for two ,so the value was not consistent with what was experienced in the past.
Marketed as an Express sister store to its main restaurant in Marpole, Penang didn't disappoint! We visited on a early Sunday afternoon and the place was still busy with guests and many families. Quickly seated, the servers were able to greet us and carry a decent conversation. The menu itself was slightly intimidating as it features an assortment of dishes, making it hard for my table to decide! Without much experience in Malaysian cuisine, we decided to go for the staples of Roti Canai and Fish Ball Laksa. We also ordered a family-style Spicey Sambal Eggplant on the side. The roti was served with a spicey curry dip on the side and it was definitely a good way to begin our meal. The roti had a slight buttery taste and didn't feel overly greasy with the curry dip either. The fish ball laksa features two types of noodles: egg noodles and vermicelli. The overall portion of the laksa was generous, but it definitely wasn't as thick and flavourful as the other laksas you'd find in Chinese or Hong Kong-style establishments. Likewise, I would've been able to finish a bowl of this laksa myself as it wasn't heavy at all. The highlight of our meal was definitely the Spicey Sambal Eggplant! It features pan-fried eggplant pieces with a little bit of minced meat and spices. It was the right kind of savory and we simply couldn't stop eating it!Overall a great place for group lunch. Would definitely come by again to try more items from their menu!
