A very pleasant way to start a Saturday is to have breakfast with a friend at this restaurant. We were there shortly after 10 a.m. so avoided having to wait. Many tempting items to choose from but I decided on the veggie omelette filled with asparagus, red peppers, mushrooms, onions, zucchini and cheese. Free range eggs are used and the omelette was moist and fluffy. Good coffee and excellent service. Well worth repe... View all feedback.
What Destinee Bogan doesn't like about Paul's Omelettery:
Let the name not confuse you. They also serve a decent lunch menu and can be very busy during the lunch hour. We tried their steak special this time. Steak was not prepared as requested, but the portions are large enough to share. Paying for...our meal was the most frustrating part as there was apparently only one guy responsible for taking orders, serving and then taking the machine around. There was other staff aro... It was a casual Monday lunchtime meetup with a friend I hadn't seen in months.
I've been to Paul's many times, usually Sunday mornings I recommend getting there by 9 a.mor there can be quite a line-up.
Food as always great! So much photo is of the leftovers we are taking home! Service great they did not seat us until they could take good care of us , White
I am flummoxed by the good reviews of this venue. I would have rated it one star but for the saving grace of the lovely servers and the quick service. That being said, you should notice when I have not touched the coffee and inquire! I strongly dislike having to give this place a negative report because the people in there were quite quietly wonderful, but from the Saturday night fever sound track piping in to the food presentation, it was so stuck in the 70's it was frightening. I think part of this was part of the intentional charm - the retro sugar shakers, cream pourers, but the food! This is why I come to a restaurant and it was straight out of a hotel basement in the 70's. The omelette eggs were cold. They were thin, shiny and rubbery like a crepe gone wrong and I ordered a Blackstone and cold diced tomatoes with some cores peopled the interior along with diced chunks of cold bacon and some decent melted but now cold edam. It was garnished with sliced oranges and tomatoes circa 1970's and both looked anemic and sad. I ate the omelette because I was starving but it had zero seasoning and the regular grade salt from the retro shaker did not embolden the flavour profile. Sad, sad and just plain sad. The coffee - a decaf - was undrinkable: bitter to the core. Water was served in a wine glass and it definitely had pretentious to a fancy restaurant but the food was so substandard that it was just not a pleasant dining experience at any level. Huge disappointment. Also of note: No Wifi. I left the restaurant and hurried to a coffee shop to get a decent cup (fantastic actually from Trees Coffee) and to warn other diners.
My friend and I decided to have breakfast for lunch so headed to Paul's at 12:30pm. Not busy so got seated right away. We ordered the Da Vinci omelette and the florentine omelette as recommended by a regular who was sitting beside us. Both pretty good but not worth waiting 40 minutes for our food! It's only eggs and toast! The waitress was also very unfriendly.
