What Louisa Ng dislikes about Nordstrom E:
Really expensive bottled juice for C, pomegranate lemonade (I think… for R, and the honey almond latte for me. Mine was too sweet, so make sure to ask for half sweet. It was conveniently located for shopping at Nordstrom, so that already gave it a steady flow of customers... View all feedback.
The staff at Nordstrom E don’t even know how to make a proper green tea latte, and they serve customers with a pompous attitude. I asked the Asian male barista for an unsweetened latte, but he made it sweetened anyway, claiming it tastes better. How dare he ignore my request? I spoke to the cashier and asked if someone else could make the drink, but the barista insisted on remaking it while rolling his eyes. This time, he served me a green tea “cappuccino” with half foam and half milk, but it had no green tea flavor at all. I gave up because it felt intentional. A few days later, I spoke to the Ebar manager, who apologized but said, “I believe we are a great team.” Well, they might think that, but they clearly aren’t great to their customers. If the manager is that proud of his team, it explains why his staff are so arrogant. I then emailed the general manager of Nordstrom, whose contact is available on their website, to report what happened. He was apologetic and sent me a gift card, which I requested, instead of encouraging me to return to Ebar as the local manager had suggested. Would you want to go back? They try to position themselves as an upscale coffee shop with their prices, but their service and drinks prove otherwise. There are plenty of other cafes nearby where spending your money makes more sense.
Nordstrom EBar is better than a Blenz and not quite as disappointing as a Starbucks, offering a respectable variety of coffees and teas along with a good selection of food and snacks. However, if you're after exceptional coffee, there are superior options nearby, like Bel Cafe, just a few blocks away.
The bottled juice for C was really expensive, and R had the pomegranate lemonade (I think). I ordered the honey almond latte, but it was too sweet, so be sure to ask for it half sweetened. The location was convenient for shopping at Nordstrom, which helped maintain a steady flow of customers.
