We were invited to have lunch at this restaurant with some friends. We had been here before but many years ago. It was Sunday, and the place was packed for lunch. Since they don't accept reservations, we waited for about 15 minutes and managed to get a table for 8. I have not been here for a while, so we let our friends, who invited us, do the ordering. read moreNingtu, a longstanding Chinese restaurant on Kingsway in Vancouver, offers a variety of traditional Shanghai dishes. While some reviewers were disappointed with lukewarm dishes and salty squid, others praised the crispy fried rice cakes, fried fish with seaweed, and shrimp with egg white. The Peking Duck was a standout, with crisp skin and nice wrappers. The restaurant is family-run and known for their Hot and Sour soup, as well as signature dishes like the chicken "Yow Lum Gai" and spinach with shredded pork. Prices are reasonable and the food quality is consistent. Overall, Ningtu offers a great dining experience with a diverse menu for Chinese food enthusiasts.
