Monk Bistro - Vancouver
Monk Bistro
Description
A cozy spot on Denman offers a unique Oden experience with minimal food options and small tables. Despite average food quality and service, the waitstaff was informative and helpful, guiding diners through the unfamiliar menu. The Northeast Style Vege Salad was a standout dish, and complimentary sweet bean soup was a sweet touch. While the seating arrangement could be cramped and uncomfortable, the overall atmosphere was inviting. Expensive add-ons may lead to a pricy meal, but the hearty servings and warming broth make it a hidden gem for comfort food on a rainy day. With a fun and friendly ambiance, it's a place worth revisiting.

Opening the door to this little restaurant, we were greeted by a blanket of delicious smokiness from the grilling.

Two hour seating limit. More than enough as the wooden benches are uncomfortable. Good was good and service very good.
