Meet on Main - Vancouver

I am by no means a vegan (or vegetarian) but my cousin is so I did my best to search out options.

Must try the kimchi poutine great vegetarian/ vegan menu.

Went to this restaurant expecting great things, had heard so. First, no one seemed to work there. Once we got a table we sat there. My wife, who has been a waitress, said that sometimes people get caught in a no man's land. She means that no one wants to ignore you, you are just not assigned to anyone. We finally got someone's attention, asked if we placed our order at the cash register or not, she said no, she could take it. She did not write it down, went from memory. I ordered a BBQ burger and upsized the french fries. My wife and daughter split a burger. I ordered two beers. One of the beers got delivered, the other not until I said something to a guy that was walking around. When the food arrived my french fries were regular(I really did not need the extra so maybe they were channeling). The regular burger was just okay, between the two they barely finished. My burger was a little burned. I was disappointed in the food and very disappointed in the service.

Summer seems to bring out my inner vegetarian, so I've been making a point of visiting some new (to me) vegetarian restaurants. Meet is my new favorite. I'm still thinking about the groovy fries and the delicious rice bowl I had. If I could make brown rice like that, I would break up with white rice immediately.

Yes, I love vegetarian food, best placed next to a juicy steak. However we were having lunch with vegans so.... The service was pretty good and the food was excellent. Nice "burger" with good fries. The others had various salad plates which all tasted very nice. The gratuity options on the check out were a little racy, but I spend too much time in NZ!
