Although the daily specials have become less frequent and some find prices to be high for the portion size, the Porchetta sandwich is a standout option. With a minimalist interior and efficient service, this spot may be ideal for a quick bite or takeout. While some find the queuing process unusual, the flavors of the sandwiches make the experience worth it. For those willing to explore unusual sandwich combinations, Meat & Bread may be a solid choice.
It was my family and I's first time in Canada and we were looking for a place to eat that was walking distance from our hotel. Came across this place and we loved it! I really like that they have a simple menu and that their sandwiches are personal sized. I had the Porchetta sandwich (their biggest seller) and for someone who isn't huge on pork, it was delicious! The crackling is the perfect addition to the sandwich and gives it a bit of crunch. If you are looking for a light and tasty lunch, this is the place to go!
Why can't you relocate to Raleigh?? This small deli is wonderful. Walk by before they open and get a whiff of the meat while it's slow roasting. You won't be able to stay away for lunch. The menu is small but fresh. We had the porchetta and the grilled cheese and both were excellent. The service was friendly and the place was clean. It was our 2nd visit in 4 yrs and we live in North Carolina!
Blink and you will miss this place but they serve delicious sandwiches. You will want to come back for more.
Whistle stop day in Vancouver and we rented the bikes but needed a bite before hitting Stanley Park. About 10-15 mins cycle mostly by the harbour and you get to Cambie Street. Hipster central! We walked in to M&B and we were hit with choices of buttie that we couldn't choose between cause they all sounded so good! The guy behind the counter simply suggested "the Porchetta - it's what we known for". We obliged. It hit the spot! Washed down with a ginger ale or lemonade. Recommended for a quick bite.
I stopped in when passing and caught a good smell on the wind. I was very happy with this delicious sandwich and wish I had known about it a day earlier!
