Reviews - Meat & Bread
Reviews summary
Despite mixed reviews, Meat & Bread offers a range of unique sandwiches with fresh ingredients that leave customers impressed. Although the daily specials have become less frequent and some find prices to be high for the portion size, the Porchetta sandwich is a standout option. With a minimalist interior and efficient service, this spot may be ideal for a quick bite or takeout. While some find the queuing process unusual, the flavors of the sandwiches make the experience worth it. For those willing to explore unusual sandwich combinations, Meat & Bread may be a solid choice.
Was Anonym at Meat & Bread a mag?
It's worth going through the weird queuing and ordering process in order to sink your teeth into the lip-smackingly good sandwiches here. I had the delectable Reuben but it was not the angels-singing-clouds-parting-sun-shining experience I was expecting for the nearly I paid for it. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Meat & Bread:
This place sucks. Sandwich’s sucks. Overpriced. The owner is not very friendly, when complained of product and asked for refund or substitute sandwich stated “I’m in the sandwich making businesses, I can’t give a refund”. View all feedback.

I tried the Porchetta sandwich. Literally meat and bread and wow! It was quite tasty and delicious! Would definitely come here again! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Service: Dine in Price per person: $10–20 Parking space: Not sure
Meat Bread never let's me down. Their meatball sandwich is INSANE. The ratio of meatball to bread is off the charts. Seriously, I couldn't believe how stacked the sandwich was when it arrived. Amazing bread, flavour profiles and more than enough to fill you up for one meal. If you're ordering takeaway, put your order in early because they do sell out of sandwiches as the day goes on! One of the best places in downtown Vancouver for the flavourful porchetta sandwiched in fresh bread. Great ambience.nice staff. I feel it's a great place to grab your lunch ????
The sandwich I had was absolutely delicious; I couldn't believe how good it was. The combination of ingredients was fantastic, and the presentation was impressive. The staff was friendly as well. However, there was a significant smoke issue that was quite unpleasant, leaving my clothes smelling for hours. They really need to address that problem.
The staff here is friendly, the interior is clean and trendy, and the sandwiches are fantastic. It’s an excellent spot to grab a bite without compromising on food quality. We sampled the porchetta sandwich and the chicken sandwich, both of which were quite satisfying. The bread was a tad chewy, but the porchetta sandwich featured crispy skin that elevated the texture to another level. Be prepared to get your hands messy while enjoying these delicious sandwiches. I also appreciate that they offer local soda (Phillips). Just keep in mind that they’re only open for four hours a day.
This is a fantastic spot for a quick meal. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is great, complemented by amazing music! We tried the porchetta (which I highly recommend) and the meatball sandwich (not as much). The mustard really enhanced the flavors of the sandwiches. I also appreciated the self-service water station. I would definitely recommend this place!

Love this place ! Always a stop over for lunch when in the city. Open on Sunday now ! Sorry guys
The porchetta sandwich has the power to transform an ordinary day into a fantastic one! It's one of my favorite spots to take out-of-town guests. And the maple bacon ice cream sandwiches? Need I say more?!
The food was incredible I got the lamb meatball sandwich. Service was super friendly. Will visit again when I'm back in Vancouver.

Delicious veranda, great decor and wonderful staff! I have to have visited my two weeks gastown for half a dozen times.
Great place for a quick bite. friendly staff and great atmosphere with amazing music! we had the veranda (recommend) and the meatball (not so much). the senf helped increase the sandwiches. Self-service water station is estimated. would recommend!
I love the sandwiches here! I usually get the porchetta sandwich but this time I got the simple grilled cheese with tomato soup. A classic combo which I thought was done quite well. They used two different types of bread for the grilled cheese to switch things up. It?s a decent place to grab lunch if you?re ever in the area :
Friendly staff, clean and hip interior, great sandwiches. It's a good place to grab a bite and not sacrifice on quality of food. We tried their porchetta sandwich and the chicken sandwich. They were both satisfying. Bread was a bit chewy. The porchetta sandwich had the crispy skin in it which made the texture out of this world. Get ready to get your hands dirty eating these yummy sandwiches. I love it that they have local soda (phillips) as well. They only open 4 hours a day.
The sandwich I had was delicious that I couldn't believe. the harmonie within the ingredients was amazing. the presentation was cool and the staff was friendly. there was a huge smoke that was terrible, all my dresses smelled for hours. they should solve this problem definitiw.
