Do not miss this small, unassuming gem of a restaurant! There's good reason this place gets crowded at lunch. They serve up outstanding pho and some of the best banh mi sandwiches in Vancouver. I am addicted to the house special spicy rolls (#13?) and the avocado rolls! They are fresh, flavourful, and very affordable. The pho is always piping hot, with delicately spiced broth, a generous portion of meat, and crisp be... View all feedback.
My friend's wife was feeling under the weather the other day and we over to get the famous beef soup with rice noodles and beef. She absolutely loved it! She felt so much better after drinking the soup. Unlike many other restaurants, the owner Long and his wife, Anna, spend many hours simmering the broth to perfection. And after going to their restaurant, you will be able to tell the difference between broth made from scratch and packaged soups. If you go there, don't forget to try out the Le Do roll - we prefer the vegetarian one but many enjoy the same roll with beef or chicken. If you're in the mood for a Vietnamese sandwich, you must make Le Do restaurant your stop. If you're reading this during warmer months, ask them to prepare you the three colour ice drink - it's delicious. Enjoy your meal at Le Do's - delicious, authentic southern Vietnamese meals at affordable prices!
A good quality pho in a divey kinda place. Very nice people working there. The food is fresh and full of flavour. That whole neighbourhood is a foodie paradise, in my opinion.
When you're wanting Vietnamese soup (Pho), rice dishes, Vietnamese spring rolls, and other wonderful dishes, do yourself a favour and go visit Long and his wife, Nga at Le Do Vietnamese Restaurant (just a block west of Nanaimo) on the south side of East Hastings Street. You will enjoy handmade delicious handmade Vietnamese food - from their Spring rolls, or their famous Avocado Rolls to their soups, you will taste that their food is made from natural, fresh ingredients. The restaurant is small and cozy and they make all customers feel welcomed.
It used to be good, however, now a day, not too many customers. First of all, I don't eat pork, I ordered the #23, seafood & pork noodle soup. I've specifically asked them not to have pork. The waitress brought me my soup and surely, there are a lot of ham (AND ONE PIECE OF SHRIMP & a shrimp cracker) in my bowl. I've told her that i ordered it without the pork and she said to pick out the pork. She said 'the next time, just ask for seafood ONLY'.First of all, when I ordered the item on the menu (#23 seafood & pork) WITHOUT the pork, shouldn't that clue in as seafood only?Anyway, i've told her that there's no seafood in my soup, she asked me to dig DEEPER and finally I've found a shrimp. She said, there you go. I was so pissed...I've NEVER EVER EVER go back there again. She is rude and because of that, I will never recommend anyone to go there again. Here is the picture of the pork that was in my bowl.
We're staying near Hastings overnight today and had a salad ready for dinner but nothing to go with it. Walked down to Le Do and ordered a couple of shredded pork Vietnamese sandwiches to go. Great choice! The french bead rolls were fresh and excellent - France couldn't do better. The filings were subtle not strong flavours. Not a huge meat load but tasty, healthy and fresh. For $3.50 each (need one per person) you can't go wrong. Will definitely try their hot food next time we're around here.
