L’Abattoir offers an upscale dining experience with a menu that showcases inventive and flavorful dishes. While some reviews noted issues with service, including slow food delivery and rushed table turnover, others praised the outstanding service and knowledgeable staff. The food received high praise, with standout dishes such as the baked oysters, slow-cooked quail lamb, and the best duck one reviewer had ever tasted. The restaurant offers a diverse wine list and unique cocktails to complement their exceptional dishes. Overall, L’Abattoir is a top choice for a remarkable dining experience, though some reviewers found the price point to be high for the overall experience.

The best of the best French cooking around downtown ,it remind me I was in Lyon ! I ate a lot of french foods from Northwest to Northeast in France , ,with girlfriend # 1 in town for two weeks ,she is very fussy what she eat ,special seafood ! (FISH ! )so ,we end up the L'Abattoir in Gas town ,(we were planning go to the other restaurant to see the sunset !)but I know their fish dishes are very limited !they still not impress me for almost three years ! ),restaurant is not too big ,atmosphere is very casual and trendy ,and it is high-end ,services is excellent, The Prawns we order is perfect steam cooked , and the poached Halibut is amazing wonderful , it is so good and fresh , I am thinking to say Good Bye to my Beef ! so ,if you going visit Vancouver ,special around Gas Town ,this restaurant must try if you love French cooking ! Reservation must !

Staff were friendly and efficient. The fois gras appetizer was very disappointing. The rhubarb pairing just didn't work with the sweet bread offered and the fois gras. I had the steak Diane which was tasty but not substantial. My wife had the pork which she commented could have been made at home. Overall, given the price of the food, I would pass next time.

We have tried to get reservations at this restaurant on previous trips to Vancouver without success. I was a little worried that I'd built up the restaurant in my mind based on reviews and anticipation, but we were not disappointed. Everything was great from the cocktails through to dessert. The menu is limited, but everything sounded so good, I don't think I could have handled more options! We each ordered different cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and shared a dessert, and enjoyed everything. If there was one area for improvement it would be to have one less table along the back wall to give just a little more space between tables. Would definitely go back.

Absolutely amazing. I cant say enough good things about this wonderful and cozy restaurant. Our waiter was so personable- Chris, you made our meal all the more lovely. The food was simply outstanding. A beautiful combination of flavors and everything was cooked to perfection. The baked oysters were the most wonderful mouthful of flavors and textures to start our meal. The agnolotti were pillow soft and the lemon sauce was so good I finished what was left with a spoon. This will be my first stop for dinner the next time I come to Vancouver! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

An absolute gem in the heart of Gastown! L'Abattoir delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. We opted for the Chef's Tasting Menu, and it was a spectacular journey. Each course was thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented. The ambiance is intimate and chic, with a vibrant energy that makes it feel special without being stuffy. To top it all off, the service was impeccable. Our servers were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, guiding us through the menu and ensuring our evening was flawless. L'Abattoir is a must-visit for anyone looking for a good dining experience in Vancouver. Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
