Description

Juke offers a mixed experience with some standout dishes amid disappointments. The fried chicken steals the show with perfectly cooked meat, but lacking in seasoning. The slaw is a delicious surprise with added crunch. However, the ribs are rubbery and taste like reheated leftovers. Limited menu and beer selection, but the chicken strips and sandwich are worth a visit. While overall the food quality is inconsistent, the friendly staff and cozy atmosphere make Juke a decent choice for a casual meal. With a few tweaks, this place could truly shine.

Stopped in for a quick lunch as we walked around Vancouver. Although close to Chinatown, we weren’t really in the mood for Asian food when we stumbled across Juke. Very good chicken – the sandwich was excellent; the chicken strips delightfully tasty. The service was excellent and all-in-all, we were very pleased with our visit.

If you ever have a fried chicken craving, come here. The batter is absolutely addicting. Order the 12 pieces and take your leftovers home. It tastes delicious cold too! Your stomach will thank you?

My wife and I we're pretty excited to try this place, interior was awesome and Shakey Graves was blaring out- great start. We LOVE fried chicken but just shared a couple of pieces with the slaw for a quick snack. Friendly bartender and decent drinks ensued. Unfortunately the star of the show (the chicken) was a disappointment- and here's why: the meat was perfectly cooked, moist and easy to tear, however, totally under seasoned. Fat had rendered perfectly and skin was shatteringly crisp, but again totally under seasoned batter mix. In fact there was no flavour in the batter other than flour. So disappointing, I usually find it the other way round, dry chicken and yummy flavoured coating. With just a few tweaks these guys could have something very special. The slaw, I might add was totally different and crazy delicious, crunchy peanuts and sesame seeds were a great addition to the usual cream laden chopped veg. Staff we're awesome, music great. Will I return? Probably yes, with small seasoning improvements this place is well worth a visit.

Missed a side

Honestly the the food was really good but the ribs are better than the chicken imo.
