A good restaurant, this - so good, in fact, that we visited it two nights running. We got a nice welcome from Sheldon, who was chatty (perhaps for a little too long), and then the very likeable Brett took over as our server. We thought that his style of asking for our names and shaking our hands was a little over-the-top, but he had a nice manner and no doubt meant well. The food was good, esp the BBQ salmon, which w... What User doesn't like about Joey Bentall:
I work in downtown Vancouver and have eaten at Joey's Bentall a number of times. Yesterday, I had lunch there with a business associate, and the food was excellent as usual, but I was really annoyed by the server. He asked us what our names were, what we had planned for the afternoon and when my dining companion's response was "work", he asked where we worked, what we did and how we liked it. I like friendly service... View all feedback.
We had a large crowd for an end of conference party. Food was good. Service was great, and the drinks were strong. What else could you ask for.
Located in downtown; very nicely designed, friendly staff. Very good food. Drains mainly on business crowd s during the week, we were there on a saturday evening and it was almost empty.Tip: the steak and tuna tataki.
Met one of my bankers at joey's since it is close to his office. It is a good place for a general meeting, very busy and full so really no privacy for sensitive discussion. I ordered a salad and it was well described on the menu so no surprises. It was well prepared as well. Our waitress is good, kept our water glasses full. It is a casual type of restaurant and will fill up by 12, so get there early. At about 1210, there will be a wait.
Probably just what you would expect from this well oiled restaurant machine. Very busy and well served by attentive staff, food again exactly what you would expect. Definitely a "no surprises" operation that they do well.Don't take anyone hard of hearing, or go for an intimate conversation. If however your meeting content is private, don't worry as no on else will hear it.Deserves do well, a worthy addition to Vancouver's restaurant landscape.

He asked us what our names were, what we had planned for the afternoon and when my dining companion's response was "work", he asked where we worked, what we did and how we liked it. I like friendly service but this was far too intrusive and it has turned me off wanting to go back to Joey's, especially for a business meal. I have seen other comments of the like, so thought I would share my own feedback in the hope that management will take notice and make some changes.
