Looks dingy and unapproachable at first, don't let that detour you. Amazing live music. Great atmosphere. Staff was very friendly, and made a killer negroni. Dancing is recommended. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Guilt and Company:
Went there on a Friday night for some live music - the sound was terrible (I don't think it was the band that was but, but the acoustics and sound were terribly handled). The staff was rude when didn't tip enough the band. Ordered a (overly priced) small beer - got and had to pay for a large one. It's going to take a lot for me to go back to the place. Just disappointing. The place was very nice though, and if it had... View all feedback.
So disappointed about this that used to be one of my fav places in Gastown: We got there 10:50 PM the hostess told us there is a charge-cover of $6 p/p because the band, we agreed. At the table we asked for a dessert, they said the kitchen is closed was 11:05) we understood, then we only listened one song then the band stops playing. We asked the server if they will play again, she said yes 15 minutes wait. People started leaving. So we wait, then we had to leave soon and we asked for the bill, the server gave us the bill and charged the cover we listened just one song) we agreed, so we decided to stay a bit longer, the band started to play again, then the server approached to us and said: are you staying? if yes you have to pay $6 each again! in a rude mood screaming, that was one of the worst experiences ever, I said why? we already pay, she said is $6 per set $6 each half an hour that the band plays) I said wow really? even if we just listened one song? then pay again? she said yes those are the rules. We stand up and left, asked the hostess and she was on the same mood rude said yes those are the charges for every set you listen, I said you didn't mentioned that at the entrance: in conclusion are better places with better music, prices and ambiance as The Blarney Stone, Frankie Jazz Club. Customer service is one of the most important things, Vancouver has many other great places!
Great bar with a good menu of beers and general drinks. They don't have a physical menu. You have to read it from a QR code. So you better have internet and a phone. It is located in a basement, which I think makes it cozy. It can be a bit loud for that reason as well. Many days, there's live music from local bands. Not danceable music but enjoyable.
Our 2 friends lined up for a good 30 min and got a table for 4 for dinner. They let the staff know we were arriving a few minutes later. The staff said it was fine and they were sat at the table. When we arrived, the staff refused to let us get to our table and demanded we lined up for 30+ minutes. We explained we had a table for 4 and were joining our 2 friends already seated. They refused and said it was “unfair” to other people ?? I’m not sure how this establishment makes sense of their policies but what’s for sure is that when you’re trying to have dinner, being refused entrance out of ‘fairness’ is simply ludicrous left a bitter taste. You can and should do better. Ultimately we all left and won’t come back. Not that it seemed like anyone cared what we think of the experience :
Great vibe, but the staff are not the friendliest. We went there on Thursday night, and they put us in the worst possible seats in the corner. When we asked to be moved to the centre (with 4 free tables), they said those are reserved for groups of 4. Within 10 minutes they proceeded to sit 2 tables of 2.The staff need to adjust their attitude, otherwise this would be a great place.
I love this place so much. It's one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. I love the atmosphere and the great live music they have. There are always good vibes and nice energy. It's good to take some beers at the bar and enjoy good music or with your friends or as a couple. It's just a great place to have a lot of fun and relaxation.
