Was Margaret Koepp at Fish Cafe a mag?
Nestled among the many shops in Kerrisdale, this small fish cafe is one of best places to go for seriously good fish (the calamari is excellent too!) Always fresh, perfectly grilled or blackened, excellent selection (halibut is my favourite but it never hurts to ask what fresh catches came in). Staff is super friendly, cafe has a casual easy vibe and prices are very reasonable. Cannot recommend enough! View all feedback.
What Kyla Kuphal dislikes about Fish Cafe:
We went here because of the reviews but it was disappointing. My husband had grilled fish with rice (no vegetables or anything); fish was tasteless. I had fish and chips—very tasteless with soggy fries. View all feedback.
Lunch was delicious, especially with the garlic butter. I could put that garlic butter on everything. Make sure you try the chocolate cake.
OMG! The food was amazing! We got the halibut sandwich, fish soup, snapper with fries yum!Definitely coming back!
I came here to leave a legitimate comment about my experience. I would have given 3 stars in the hope of the owner recognizing their faults in their business and hopefully rectifying it moving forward. After reading their bashful replies to what seem like honest reviews. I’m shocked at the level of arrogance displayed. Owners should be more receptive to feedback. Putting a flag up that represents a state that is ending an entire population doesn’t help… but I’m not here to judge that. I’m here to say my fish and chips wasn’t anywhere near what I had expected. Burnt, oily, and just felt so sick afterwards. Do better buddy, your survival in this industry depends on it. I just edit this;. Saw the owner swearing at a cyclist on Homer Street .. never heard such profanity. He also spat at the cyclist which I thought was very distasteful.
