came with a friend from the city. It was absolutely amazing. We ordered the beef bell sandwich, Allu rice and mushroom paste. The sand that was from this world. Tastefully and simply a pleasant experience, an ingenious mixture of flavors. The Allu rice was such a mixture of great flavors. The egg had a strong creamy or cheese to taste, but was delicious. The mushroom pasta was a pleasant surprise. A balance of favor,... View all feedback.
What impressed us the most was that, although an item was missing from our first order, when we placed another order a few days later, they included a complimentary dessert along with a thoughtful note apologizing for the oversight. We really appreciate their attention to detail and excellent service, and we’re looking forward to dining in next time!
We visited Dosanko for the first time, a Japanese restaurant that specializes in Japanese sandwiches. The server was friendly and attentive, and the decor was appealing, featuring dark wood, a charming bar, and soft lighting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet our expectations. We tried the tuna and karaage onigiri, which lacked a fresh flavor and tasted more like salty rice balls. The cod sandwich and chicken burger were similar – not bad, but nothing particularly memorable. The prices were reasonable, as were the portion sizes.
We tried several items: Mugi Cha, Grape Calpico Soda, Kinpira, Crispy Cheesy Onigiri, Farm Vegetable Tempura, Beef Belly Katsu Sandwich, Omu Rice, and Pacific Cod Fish Katsu. Earlier this year, we enjoyed Cheese Yaki Onigiri in Seattle, and until now, I didn’t know of any place in Vancouver that served it. Even Takenaka's Onigiri Cafe, the only dedicated Onigiri restaurant in Vancouver, doesn’t have a Cheese Onigiri on their menu. Dosanko not only surprised us by having Cheesy Onigiri, but they also cooked it even better than the one we had in Seattle! We were already happy with the one we had in Seattle, but that was our first and only experience with Cheese Onigiri, so we had no comparison. After trying Dosanko's version, there's no way we’d go back to the one in Seattle. At first glance, Dosanko's Cheesy Onigiri appeared lighter in color and didn’t look as appealing as the one we had in Seattle, but taking a bite was a different experience. It was much less greasy, making it a more comfortable and satisfying choice. Omu Rice was absolutely delicious! They provided plenty of tomato sauce, which we happily poured over the plain rice that accompanied one of our other dishes. Every dish was executed perfectly, making this a wonderful meal. We will definitely return to try their lunch special! I would give five stars for the food. However, it was an extremely hot summer day, and the restaurant had no air conditioning, so I’ll rate it four stars overall when considering the atmosphere. Service: Good Parking: Paid parking on the street; free parking a couple of blocks away. Location: 566 Powell St.
Variety of authentic Japanese yo-shoku menu!We had menchi katsu burger and katsu sando and they were both delicious! Would love to come back and try more stuff!
The food was a bit pricey but their bread pudding was delicious ?. Servers were also very polite and accommodating.
