I've been going here 2-3 times a month with friends to shoot pool. We have our own league: Crazy Pool Players. We have a table reserved starting at 6:30 pm. We play 8-ball or cut throat depending on the number of us who show up. Sometimes Scotch doubles when we play in teams. Each game is only $1.We love the great deals especially on Thursday's which is Customer Appreciation Day - All Day! Highballs are only $4. We u... View all feedback.

We drank it anyway and a waitress that was really good came by and I had another glass of wine.My spouse never complained about the drink mix up, so that it our fault. The prices were cheap and the service was ok. The waitress was way better than the bartender as she served what was asked for.

Stopped in for some drinks on a Saturday... Prices were reasonable and there was a live band setting up, but we left before they started. We were staying in the hotel and I could hear them later from the balcony and it sounded pretty good. It's unpretentious and kinda had a like "this is the bar that 1986 forgot" kind of feel to it, if you know what I mean. Bartenders were attentive, food was ok. If we had stayed longer I think it would have been a pretty fun place to hang out.
I've been coming to the Comox since the very early days, almost 20 odd years (I don't recall what it was before) and I should start by saying that the bar/serving staff are top notch. I've never once had an issue with any of the servers and that is very impressive indeed. Now to the food. My lord the food is regrettable. Over priced, odd presentation, strange consistency of many items, a kitchen that seem to have never actually tasted any of their wares, add to this the comedy pricing and you've got yourself a problem. The Comox is a place where you grab a beer, have a laugh and watch the game. Some nights you might listen to one of the bands or even play some eight ball. It's a neighbourhood bar and as such it should go back to their old school neighbourhood bar menu. Hey Comox...love you guys, but please consider the following:-a normal burger and fries (axe the sliders)-normal chicken wings (no weird wing tips)-affordable nachos (this $18 thing has to go)-if you can't prepare fish steer clear of serving it-try a chiliI actually wrote a letter to the feckless staff of the hotel detailing a particularly rotten dining experience, but surprise surprise they never responded. Not every bar needs to have an Asian fusion menu...get back to basics.
Although we don't usually eat in the hotel, we were tired and hungry and decided to grab lunch here. The restaurant in the hotel seemed to already be closed so we grabbed lunch in the bar. Quite disappointing.
