We had been here 10 years ago and thought it would be fun to some back.....so we took the ferry to the stadium and walked along Abbott street to the Gaslight district for lunch at Chill Winston. Day was mild and sunny and CW was not crowded and we had our selection of tables on the patio, We ordered beer from this delightful waitress...Sky? The drinks arrived promptly and she took our lunch orders. Lunch arrived fair... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Chill Winston:
Food was ok. Just felt like a fast food in and out restuarant. Staff was ok. Everything very just ok. Would not reccomend it. There are way better options close by. View all feedback.
Lots of attractive young people seemed to be enjoying this stylish place when we, not so young but also not unreasonably demanding, arrived for drinks and dessert. The martinis, when they arrived, were not chilled. The dessert, well, it never arrived. But it appeared on our bill nonetheless. Bottom line: we won't be back.
Having walked Coal Harbour, all around Canada Place and in and out of way too many stores in Gastown, it was time to sit back, eat and enjoy yet another beautiful day in Vancouver...but where? And then Chill Winston's terrace presented itself. One of our companions had had enough heat and sun for the day, so we opted for the inside - easy seating given that everyone else was queuing up for the patio. With a table and chairs near the wide open windows, we had the best of both worlds in the middle of a great atmosphere, music in the background, but not too loud and no disturbing kitchen noises and crashes. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. I highly recommend the Stella Artois similar tasting and just as satisfying Twin Sails Pilsner and the Broken Ladder Apple Cider, pale and light and distinctive. I enjoyed the Buttermilk fried prawns with cucumber and celery salad from the small plate section of the menu. My family members ate every bit of their veggie burger and CW burger, and were both very pleased that they could have a salad/fries combination, rather than just one or the other. And while all of the above is very good and the decor of the restaurant is rustic chic and a touch eclectic (take a look at the chandeliers when you visit,) the washroom set-up was worth the visit to the restaurant. In terms of wheelchair accessibility, the outside terrace is on the ground, so that works, but I would have to return to see if there is a ramp leading into the upstairs main restaurant. I often wish there was a category between very good and excellent, as in this case as the only reason I did not assign an overall excellent was the pricing; while not extravagant, it was a bit beyond what I would want to typically spend on lunch.
This is the best patio in the city - and incredible selection of beers and cocktails. Tasty small plates. Really enjoyed this spot - and went back for more just yesterday.

Lunch arrived fairly promptly and the salad and battered shrimp were excellent and the right portion for two seniors...LOL Check was slow arriving but we were in no hurry.....we are retired. However the price fir what we had was excessive but that is what we found in most of Canada even with the favorable US to CA exchange rate,
