For over 20 years The Epicurean was a landmark in Vancouver. Located at Cypress and 1st ave, it was my favourite breakfast spot not only for the food but the staff were the best of the best. What User doesn't like about Cafe Lokal:
Made it across town just to try this place, and it’s okay not what I hoped for. Not really dog friendly as advertised, just on the outside sitting. The apple tart was a bit undercooked and could feel dough with each bite. But the grumpy GaF attitide was what turned me off not that we had to sit outside but the way it was done, was feeling the influence of the communist block View all feedback.

I'm really happy to report that a few months ago Zoran and Sarah of the Epicurean opened Cafe Lokal, located on 4th ave and Trafalgar in Kits. They still have the best coffee in town, and offer a perfect spot to relax and have something delicious to eat. The Club Sandwich is my favourite lite bite before or after shopping on forth or Broadway. This spot is all Kits, super friendly and lots of seating arrangements to enjoy a glass of wine with friends.
Went to Cafe Lokal for a meeting with someone and was really pleasantly surprised by the place. It's very nice with tons of people who are hanging out and talking (not just people sitting on laptops working). Coffees are great and at the usual prices. Espresso-based drinks are great.
