Stumbled upon this place on our way back to the Hyatt Regency from the ICG supermarket. It's a 2 minute walk from the supermarket and about a 7 minute walk from the Hyatt Regency. It was about 11am so we were the only ones there, so service was fast and food was great. Loved their fried hot wings with medium sauce. We also had the deluxe pizza (pepperoni, mushroom, ham and bell peppers) which was also very good. Pr... View all feedback.
What Brody Glover doesn't like about Boston Pizza:
Was not impressed by the cost of 2 pizzas and the smallest chessey pizza side ever. I could have probably got over the cost if the taste was at least ok but the pizzas were very bland and you could not tell one pizza from another even with very different toppings (and sauce). View all feedback.
We were there for Vancouver day so restraints were packed. This was the only one with outdoor seating. I ordered Sausage Arabiatta described as spicy sausage, a spicy sauce and caramelized balsamic onions over penne pasta. The balsamic onions should have turned me away but nothing else on the menu was at all appealing. The sausage was not spicy but right off the pizza toping table and mostly refrigerator cold and only half was stirred into the sauce for any warming. The onions were excessively pickled and soured the sauce where they had been dropped. The portion was large enough to feed at least two. I could only stand the parts where they onions hadn’t been dropped and only ate less than a quarter. I wouldn’t have eaten any substitute they would have offered. I stopped at Breka Bakery on Davies and Hornby for sensational snack instead. This is a good place for big non discerning eaters and probably has good drinks. The patio has torches for when it is cold and in a lovely spot on Hornby.
I have been to dozens of BP branches over the years and this branch is below par the excellence I am accustomed to expecting at a Boston Pizza restaurant. It’s a shame that it’s the downtown branch too, of all places. We ordered calamari (it was dried out and tiny, like it was someone’s leftovers or over cooked and left to sit out), ceasar salad (the lettuce was wilted and salad over-dressed) and a berry dessert which was mediocre and poorly served. Many of their servers were just standing around and chatting most of the time we were there. Kudos to the poor girl who finally found out we were at her table and tried best she could to be courteous and timely afterwards. But prior to that it was quite the wait, and the girl who gave us our menu wouldn’t even look at our faces, let alone ask us if she could get us anything before our actual server arrived (we didn’t know there was someone else, she never bothered to tell us). Either this place is poorly managed, or the staff poorly trained, or a little of both, I don’t know. But it definitely needs work. I wouldn’t bother going back to this branch. If you go to the one near BC Place, you’ll get service and food 10x better than this one. Or if you want to stay in the area, there are numerous other choices, including an Earls that’s right across the street.
My wife and I were looking for somewhere open late on a Saturday night for a sit down meal away from the downtown bar crowd and found this BP's. We're familiar with their menu and it was a beautiful restaurant with a patio so we gave it a try.We asked the greeter if we could sit on the patio and she seemed obviously disappointed that we had made that request. It was odd because there were others sitting out there which was was drew us to the restaurant in the first place. She seated us and asked to take our drink order. I asked if they had Kokanee on tap and she responded "Yes... is Pepsi okay?" I said "No not Coke... Kokanee" and she agreed they had that. The restaurant was not busy at all and yet our drink order didn't come for quite a while and we saw the greeter seating more people. We started to wonder if she had forgotten the order and if she would ever ask us what we wanted to eat. Eventually she went to the bar and brought back my wife's drink and a bottle of Kokanee. When I told her I asked if it was "on tap" she said she didn't know what that means. Another waiter stepped up and offered to replace it. We assumed at this point she was new and was being trained. I agreed to drink the bottled beer.We ordered a starter size of nachos for my wife and some 8 chicken wings and a small pizza for myself explaining we wanted it all at the same time. The nachos came out relatively quickly but not the wings or pizza. The nachos were the full size and came with a pizza spatula and one plate. My wife waited for a bit to eat with me but decided to start while the nachos were still hot. When the rest of the food arrived I asked if this big plate of nachos was the "starter size" and the waitress said "I don't know." A manager stepped up and said it wasn't and that he would charge us only for what we had ordered. The chicken wings varied in size from no meat to an almost full sized drumstick. All of the food tasted slightly off from what we normally get at a BP's. We declined an offer to box up the left-overs because we both agreed neither of us wanted to eat more of these particular items. We eat at BP's all the time and I suspect this was just an off-night for this particular location and a first night for this server.

Price was good in comparison to other restaurants in the area, so definitely a good option for a family with kids and on a budget.
