The restaurant's specialty menu features paninis and a variety of wraps. I highly recommend trying the spicy butter and Thai chicken wrap with sweet chili sauce or mango tamarind chutney - it's delicious! Another standout is the turkey wrap, and don't forget to try the Cinnamon Bun or sticky bun, which pairs perfectly with their new smoothie flavors. The Strawberry Lemonade Swirl, Strawberry Shortcake, and milkshake... View all feedback.
What Jed Maggio doesn't like about BG Urban Cafe:
Ate here today with my mum before getting a flight to Toronto. The food was terrible. The service was terrible and i ordered a breakfast wrap which was like vomit in a wrap and had a weird consistency, disgusting xx View all feedback.
Food was good, prices were reasonable, and atmosphere was good. Nothing extraordinary to say but nothing bad either.
Just a short break for coffee and a snack, but the warmed cinnamon node was so good I had to stop and write a note.
Today, I dined at this restaurant with my mother before catching a flight to Toronto. Unfortunately, the food was subpar and the service was poor. I ordered a breakfast package that was unappetizing, with a strange consistency that made me feel sick. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
Urban Café was a block from our hotel. It was our place for the early morning coffee, we had breakfast there one day and used the grocery store a number of times for fruit, water and everything we needed. It was open daily from 7:00 to 22:00. They had a wide selection of breakfast lunch and dinner, served cafeteria style with many prefabricated options as well. And also a fully equipped grocery store. From a smaller town that has fought to get a significant food presence in the city area, this place was really a wonderful surprise. If we lived in the city centre, it would be a place where we would regularly be.
The BG branch along Granville Street is a disappointment. Food seemed unappetising and staff looked bored and disinterested in customers. The decor was a bit dated as wel. Ordered something that calls itself a turkey wrap but instead of slices of turkey breast, it came up with processed turkey ham. Tasted so bad I left the rest uneaten. Salad lettuce looked sad and limpy. You would get a better deal and a better meal if you go to the foodhall in the basement of the Pacific Centre shopping mall nearby (you can't miss it, it is the one with the lovely giant dome conservatory at the entrance) along Howe Street. Food there looks fresh, and staff cheerful and vibrant.
