What Daphne Daniel doesn't like about Bao Chau Vietnamese Restaurant:
After our Quarry Rock hike, we decided to grab a bite. We decided on Vietnamese at Bao Chau on Hastings and Slocan. It was pretty steady. The condensed milk coffee was good, as well as the soup base for the pho and the deep fried spring rolls. The other items just needed more seasoning. View all feedback. What Jen Norton likes about Bao Chau Vietnamese Restaurant:
Not as good as I remember it way back when I used to live in the neighbourhood years ago. The broth feels like it is loaded with MSG. Even with this, the price is good for what you get. Bao Chau's deep-fried spring rolls are, however, still unparalleled. The shop looks kind of grungy on the inside but I feel like that is most serious pho shoppes. View all feedback.

read moreBao Chau, located on East Hastings Street, is a popular spot for Vietnamese noodles in the Hastings-Sunrise area. The pho broth is flavorful, and their deep-fried spring rolls are a must-try. The restaurant has been a favorite among locals and Vietnamese food enthusiasts for years. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including beef noodles soup and steamed rice with BBQ pork chop. While some reviewers noted a slight dip in quality in the past, recent visits have shown improved consistency. The portions are generous, prices are affordable, and the atmosphere is casual and welcoming. The owner and staff are attentive and friendly. The only downside is that the restaurant only accepts cash. Overall, Bao Chau offers delicious Vietnamese cuisine in a cozy setting that is worth a visit for those craving authentic flavors.
Best spring rolls in Vancouver. Pho is average but their rice dishes are outstanding. Standard service. One of my favourite Vietnamese spots.
Had lunch. Beefball noodle was good and a side of spring rolls. Eerything was served hot and fast. Spring rolls were a bit oily, but good none the less.
