What Flavio Watsica doesn't like about Banana Leaf:
I haven't been here for many years ... but I must say we had about 6 different dishes among 4 of us ... and the food was very tasty .... a little pricey I might add ... but the quality of food was very good We were there before dinner rush ... and service was also pretty good View all feedback. What Злата Королёв likes about Banana Leaf:
The 4 of us had never tried Malaysian food and we were delighted that we stopped here for lunch. Our server recommended the 5 course lunch tasting menu as we were first timers and would therefore get a good insight into Malaysian food. He was...absolutely right and we all concurred that the salad to the dessert everything was delicious and flavorful. Truly a great dining experience, we'll be back. View all feedback.

read moreA recent visit to Banana Leaf in downtown Vancouver left one patron feeling extremely disappointed with the quality of food and the lackluster service provided. The appetizer sampler for two was a major letdown, with dishes like roti canai and satay falling short of expectations. The char quey teow was a particular disappointment, lacking the fiery heat and flavor it is known for. The overall experience was deemed unsatisfactory given the high prices charged by the restaurant. On the flip side, other patrons enjoyed a delicious meal at Banana Leaf, praising the flavorful dishes and attentive service. Despite a few minor issues like delayed coconut rice, the 11-course tasting menu and seafood received glowing reviews from another group. The variety of dishes, including roti, mee goreng, and ribs, were highlighted for their excellent flavors and generous portions. Ultimately, while some diners may have had an underwhelming experience, others found Banana Leaf to be a top choice for authentic Malaysian cuisine in Vancouver with friendly staff and unique offerings.
