Babylon Cafe is what a good neighborhood falafel stand would be if it were tucked in a storefront. Stripped down, but with great falafel, shawarmas and other Middle Eastern fare. What's special are the many accouterments they offer, including all sorts of what look like homemade pickles. Friendly staff. View all feedback.
What Baron Roob doesn't like about Babylon Cafe:
First time ever writing a review but this place deliberately ripped me off and I was completely shocked as this has never happened to me in Vancouver before. I ordered a 7.50$ wrap and a drink, gave them a 20$ bill and they hand me back 5$ and a toonie or so. I thought they were joking until I asked and they said tabouli. There was no tabouli in my wrap, I watched them make it. Bad attitude, bad customer service, dec... View all feedback.

Outstanding shawarma - very close to what I enjoy in Qatar. Very reasonably priced with all fresh ingredients. A downtown treasure.

We went in after jazz festival and had two chicken shwarma plates. the chicken was good but the falafel, hummus rice and veggies were great. the chicken was a just a bit dried out. service is at the counter. the felafel is made fresh and is airy and tasty. it is a good reasonably priced meal. nothing fancy.
I got the 7$ wrap and for some reason ended up paying 10$! Then the tip...it was way too pricey. It was a small tiny thing with no juicy anything going for it. I have had good wraps and this one was a loser. The chicken was the end of the roast and it was small and dry. The gentleman serving used his bare hands to put everything on the wrap and it was a bit un nerving because he came from the back and I did not see him wash his hands. My friend noticed this too. It was puny, not much veg on the wrap and when I asked for hummus and some pickle I think this made it become a 10$ wrap. He never said it would be extra. I ate it because I was starving and hoping for a real juicy meal, but he skimped so hard on all the vegetables and marinades it was dry, cheap and not worth the cost. Be careful.
