This restaurant is always busy, but the service is fast and the food is consistently fresh. I have been a fan of their Teenburgers ever since they were first introduced years ago. View all feedback.
What Colin D doesn't like about A&W Restaurant:
We chose to eat here after playing pitch and putt on the beautiful ambleside course. The lady that served me had a terrible attitude. I asked for two medium sized cokes but she pointed to the empty cups and angrily said those are the sizes . I chose two of the regular size and two portions of chips. I waited patiently and took them back to our table. The cokes were flat and the chips warm. I should have taken them ba... View all feedback.
A&W in North Vancouver continues to serve some of the best fast food burgers and fries in the area. The prices are reasonable, the service is exceptionally friendly and quick. The food is fresh, including the coffee. Despite arriving just 5 minutes before closing, the staff kindly made a fresh pot of coffee for us without us even having to ask. We will definitely be returning.

No question A W does a great job of delivering good quality food in a fast food arena. Try their breakfast platter a really great hot breakfast plate (not just the standard breakfast sandwich) very good option if watching your carbs. They will also do their birgers in a box on top of a salad ....good quality beef, which I appreciate.
A&W is a favorite of my entire family. I like to order two Papa Burgers with cheese, while my daughter prefers the Teen Burger without onions. I recently tried the Wedgie Burger with bottomless salad at Red Robin for $13, and it was delicious. When I saw that A&W was offering lettuce wraps for their burgers, I decided to try it. I ordered one Papa Burger with lettuce wrap and one original, for a couple of extra dollars compared to Red Robin. Unfortunately, the lettuce wrap was poorly done and immediately fell apart as I unwrapped it. It was drenched in mustard and the assembly was so bad that it was difficult to eat. I ended up using a knife and fork to finish the burger. However, the Papa Burger with cheese was still great as usual. I would not recommend ordering a lettuce-wrapped burger from A&W as they use the wrong lettuce and do not assemble it properly.
I am an immigrant so far be it for me to criticize anyone for poor language skills but I could not understand a single word the cashier was saying, so we ended up gesticulating and pointing to get the order placed. You would think there would be a modicum of English required for a cashier in a busy food court. But... the Kids Meal was ok and the kid liked it, so that is what counts!
