I travel 8k km to Vancouver city, staying woth family out of town, catch the train in, a bit peckish, come out of Waterfront station, eh voila! here is A+W.Have been to some of their more rural establishments before, so this was my first 'downtown' experience. Basically, fast food, burger fayre, it does it's job, serves a purpose, the polite staff gave me a breakfast burger, hash brown and a good old Canadian coffee,... View all feedback.
What Yasmeen Smith doesn't like about A&W Restaurant:
The food was just average though hot and filling. Enjoyed the root beer. The downtown location is convenient to Waterfront Station. Americans - they do take US dollars but make change in Canadian. This location was not very clean, the bathrooms are down a long hallway and the dirtiest, smelliest I've have the misfortune to encounter in quite a while. I think these restrooms are shared by other businesses so I'm not s... View all feedback.
Canada's alternative to MCD (they do have both tho) was solid. It served its purpose which was to feed us when we couldnt find Japadog. I do like that they promote using animals that have not been pumped up with hormones etc and they do produce a solid fast food product.
I always find their food 'salty'... and I know the nutritionists will shun the place. If you're in a hurry, they are cheap and fast.
We ate at the A&W in the Pacific Centre. It was around $15 (CAD) for two drinks and two egg and bacon English muffins. It was inexpensive and good quality for the price. If you want a no frills cheap breakfast then this place is good.
So we stopped by for a root beer float and fries, but the place was so dirty, unfriendly and unkept inside that we walked in and walked out. Major Big disappointment!!!!!
The A&W is different from the United States. They do have great food as standard with any A&W. Quick bite to eat and you move on.
