not her typical neon-signed Vietnamese restaurant. this place is easy to one of our favorite night dinners with the restaurant, which welcomes guests up to 12 o'clock. it offers a warm atmosphere with friendly waiting staff and some delicious Vietnamese food. I am particularly serious about their lemongrass dishes on rice, house special pho, and deep fried banana dessert. Unfortunately, I would say that they skip the... View all feedback.
What Camille Brunet doesn't like about Alexis House Cafe:
we have decided whether to pho xe lua overrun a block or try here. we have tasted the prices and it was a little cheaper here. the sections, however, are so small. we have the chicken Vermicelli shell that was already $14, and it doesn't come with an early roll like other places. if they want one, they must add $4 and it is the half of the size of others. taste was just like other places. the pork banh mi was also ve... I was meeting a group for dinner at this restaurant last night. Not knowing anything about it I walked in and looked around. The older gentleman behind the bar looked at me with surprise which sort of made me confused. After a moment he muttered that I could sit anywhere. Thick accent that I could barely understand. As the rest of my party arrived I began to understand that this guy was waiter, bartender and cook. Later he also became entertainer. After a long wait I managed to get a glass of house wine. No wine menu so all I could see was a sign on the wall showing price for house wine. It was warm and terrible. After another long wait we ordered food. I ordered kalimari which was gross. Basically taken from the freezer to the microwave to make a pile of greasy mush. I was starving by that time but couldn't finish it.Then I wanted to get the hell out of there but he disappeared. I found him later chatting and drinking with some guy at another table. In moments he was at our table offering to do shots with us. Finally I asked for the bill which he didn't split up so I paid the whole thing to get out.Brutal. Not sure how he stays in business.
