What Gilda Jerde doesn't like about Abruzzo Cafe:
Un luogo triste, che più triste non si può! E rappresenterebbe l'Italia? Ma anche no!Un luogo buio, vecchio negli arredi, ma non inteso come vintage bensì come ciarpame usurato e fatiscente.Trovi i più anziani immigrati italiani che ancora pensano all'Italia con la corriera e le valige legate a corda sul tetto e all'accelerato che impiega 12 ore da Roma a Milano.Il caffè non è niente di che.La macchina era vecchia e l... Nice little Italian cafe at commercial! Been coming here few times a year for the past 3-4 years.
Great ambience --Feels like I'm in New York! Great big window to people watchItalian Football in the backgroundOutside seating for a sunny day.
Had a slice yesterday......worst pizza I have ever eaten. Could have got a fresher pizza @ any dumpster. NNNEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gelato! It's pretty good, although the pistaccio isn't too flavourful.
We were on Commercial Drive and needed a fix of Java. Here is this little place, owner run, with just what we needed. It doesn’t look like much from the outside or on the inside. Slightly run down and dated. And just the sort of place one would visit if living in the neighbourhood. Has that casual, don’t get too excited atmosphere. Probably full of locals during international soccer events. My wife had the cheesecake with figs and I the apple pie, plus drinks. We noted that ice cream and some sorbets are available. Some are made by the owners, and we will have to check them out on a future visit to Commercial Drive. There are some breakfast items and pizzas available. There is a bit of confusion about the name in our minds. It says Toscanini on one of the outside windows but Abruzzo higher up on the building.
