Was Ova Dach at Pidgin a mag?
Fantastic experience. We had the tasting menu and added the fois gras which was completely worth it. Very delicious! Great unique food, and would definitely recommend trying their yuzu creme brulee. A great spin on a classic plus if you’ve never had a candied olive you’re in for a treat : View all feedback.
What Stanford Smith dislikes about Pidgin:
From the food to the service a little disappointed me. Ideas are creative and ingredients are fresh and well cooked, but Sauce is ordinary, kimchi is too complex in our month. but it has best location to have a family reunion. View all feedback.

Un superbe restaurant original, avec une carte fraicheur. Cocktails ausi originaux, concepte tapas, les enfants ont aussi aimé.
My husband and I ate here. We had the fixed menu. The food was amazing and the service was great. I was impressed with how well the staff all worked together which made it a smooth evening. If you go I highly recommend the oyster shots. The cocktails were also fantastic and very fun.
We had the Travelzoo tasting menu coupon. The multiple courses were quite unique and tasty and delicious. The ingredients were the freshest. We went on Sunday night with $1 corkage, it doesn't get much better than that. Service was good, helpful, attentive and friendly.

We were led to this restaurant by good reviews on Trip Advisor and Yelp, and we weren't disappointed. We walked to it from our downtown hotel, and found the neighborhood a bit sketchy but the restaurant was fine. They offer two tasting menus and we opted for the lower priced one. Beginning with oyster shooters, the food was ample and tasty. Our waiter was very helpful about making food choices and gave us great service.

The Prix Fixe menu is an adventure in dining that is not to be missed. Innovative and delicious!
My new favorite restaurant in Vancouver! The food is of the highest quality, and the staff is attentive and knowledgeable.
We visited for a prix fixe dinner, and each dish we had was remarkable, creative, and well thought out. All I can say is...the wait was definitely worth it!
Fantastic and incredibly imaginative menu, particularly the oyster shots. The drinks are also quite distinctive. The service is both friendly and professional. Overall, it's one of the...
Best drinks ever especially (not sure what they call it) the house special of the day! potent and nice way to start off the rest of the evening!

Came here with a friend and it was so good that I texted my partner during the meal to tell her I'd like to take her sometime soon. Less than a month later, my partner and I had a lovely date here. Shootout to Ryan who was so friendly and made our meal so enjoyable. Honestly one of the best staffers we have encountered out of all our dining experiences in Vancouver. The space is beautiful. It's one of those places you could book out for an event such as a wedding, birthday, engagement etc. The food...oh the food. the mushroom tempura was amazing. The rice flour they use makes it so crispy. It was so good that while we were eating it, we ordered another one. They should consider having it on the menu full time. Making it a special is just torture because I'd want it every visit. the cabbage dish was delicious. Much better on my first visit but still good nonetheless. wasn't a huge fan of the chicken wings sorry to say. same goes for the celeriac salad. Just not as amazing as the other dishes. the vegetable and oka cheese gratin was ungh. Just. Amazing. is the $110 ribeye worth $110? Yes. It's so simple, so tender, so amazing. You look at it and wonder if you're crazy paying that much; but once it enters your mouth, you'll immediately feel your hand patting yourself on the back for making such a good decision ordering this dish. the star of the evening is the Szechuan peppercorn beignets with miso salted caramel. It's gluten free so my partner got to enjoy it. We enjoyed it so much we ordered another because it's that damn good. It's tingly but not spicy and everyone tastes something a little different. All I know is it's delicious AF. Hot tip: be careful when walking to and from the restaurant due to the neighborhood. What I mean is look down while you walk because there's a lot of poo.
We discovered this restaurant through Reddit recommendations and decided to try their tasting menu. However, we were slightly disappointed. The tasting menu for winter 2023 included 6 out of 10 dishes. One issue we had was that some of the starter dishes were served on a single plate for the table to share, which we found awkward as we had to separate it ourselves. As for the food, I personally enjoyed the tempura veggies, duck breast, and vanilla bavarois dessert. The rest of the dishes were either bland or just okay. The fish on toast was not memorable due to the soggy brioche, and the salad was difficult to eat. The soba noodles and sturgeon were average, with the sturgeon being a bit dry. The service was acceptable, though the food took a while to arrive. The cozy ambiance of the restaurant was a plus. Overall, I would not pay the price for this meal again. It was a one-time experience, and we do not plan on returning.
After enjoying a fantastic meal in 2018, I recently returned to this restaurant and was pleased to find that the experience was just as wonderful as I remembered. My partner and I decided to try the tasting menu, which was a steal at only $89 CAD. The amount of food we received was truly impressive, and it was difficult to choose a favorite dish. However, the standout was the sturgeon wrapped in prosciutto - a unique and delicious combination. The service was top-notch, with the staff being very knowledgeable about the local wines on offer. The cozy interior created a welcoming atmosphere, despite the mixed vibes outside. This restaurant remains one of my go-to spots when visiting the city.
We made a reservation for a group of 7 on a Saturday, about 2 weeks in advance, to celebrate our birthday. The food was mediocre; many dishes didn't come together well. The brioche was supposed to be toasted, but it didn't have that toasted flavor. It seemed like it may have been prepared too early and left out for too long. The salad was a disappointment with ingredients that didn't complement each other, a strange taste, and watery dressing. The octopus was cooked perfectly, with an okay salad on top. The Matsutake tempura was the standout dish - lightly battered and not greasy. It was the highlight of our meal. I tried sturgeon for the first time, and while it was good, I don't have anything to compare it to. I wasn't a fan of the lentils. The duck breast was standard; I've had better, but it met my expectations. The service was decent, and our water glasses were constantly filled. The restaurant had a nice ambiance, although the surrounding area was a bit sketchy.
Excellent service but portions were small and some dishes were too salty for us. When we first entered the restaurant, there was a really heavy chlorine smell. It did go away after a while. Although small portions, the food was mostly delicious! I loved the white asparagus salad, mushroom fritters, and amuse bouche from the tasting menu. The tasting menu is small, I wasn't full afterward. Some of the dishes were also too heavily salted. Fyi, if you're walking there, just beware it's not the nicest walk. Carrall St is a little sketchy and smelly. If you can, avoid Hastings street as well.

Staff were all very friendly and had exceptional knowledge about all the food and drinks. Overall great experience and the food was all on point!
Dineout 2020. Excellent food. Great service, friendly bartenders. The halibut was my favorite dineout dish. We’re going back soon to try their regular menu.
It was a great dine out experience! Love the food and service is great! Highly recommend!
I like great dining and our dinner at Pidgin was one of my top 3 dining experiences of all time! The food was fantastic but our server Ryan pushed our experience to the next level. I’ve never met a more knowledgeable, helpful and honest server who loves the dining experience as much as we all do. We will definitely be back!!
We had an amazing time at Pidgin. We chose the fixed price menu with the flight pairing, and everything was ridiculously good!! We will be back.

So good. Each dish kept getting better and better as it came out. The oyster shot blew our minds. So flavorful with great textures!! Great date night spot. Our server (Jordan) was so friendly and made great suggestions.
PiDGin is a complete dining experience. I cannot say enough about the service, special mention to Jordan and Patrick, the menu is constantly changing and constantly awesome and to top it off, the drinks are second to none! Making a reservation is a must as this place is always busy and deservedly so.
A place with a really welcoming vibe with asian chefs that do a solid fusion style thats both inspired and original. Brilliant bar and table service. Management are genuine progressives who want to do good for the community and staff and continuously engage it with compassion and understanding. A real gem in Gastown that deserves all the respect it gets and more.
The best cocktails ever and our waitress was the best. Absolutely pleasure to experience this!!
I always enjoy coming to this place. Food and service was excellent! Their foie gras dish remains to be my favorite

We did the chef’s tasting menu and were fortunate enough to sit at the actual chefs table. The service was spot on. The timing was great. The food was spectacular! It was so fun watching professionals executing with ease. Highly recommend!
We came here with pretty high expectations after hearing about it a few times. To be on the safe side, we tried the tasting menu and there’s no way it’s worth the value, not even close. Everything was very basic, made out of cheap ingredients, came in the tiniest portions that left us hungry after spending over $250 for 2 people. That’s the most disappointing part.Bonus disappointing part: no plating skills whatsoever, as a foodie, I take food pictures all the time but really didn’t want to take any pictures of the food that we were served here…. See it for yourself1. A5 Wagyu tiny, bite size portions the size of my pinky finger (no joke . A bit salty2. Tomato salad ok let’s face it but this dish probably cost $5. The menu makes it sound fancy but it’s literally slices of tomatoes and lettuce, nothing more. I could honestly put together a better tomato salad dish that would look more presentable. Yikes3. Octopus carpaccio no comments. Had this very smoky taste but our expectations were already pretty low after the tomato salad…. Lol4. Mushroom tempura another bite size dish that I could easily make at home for less than $10 and better plating too. Yikes 2x5. Sockeye nothing more than plain sockeye skin on. The kind anyone can make at home in the oven after a long day at work6. Pork rack probably the best and most filling dish if I’m being generous? But nothing mind blowing to be fair7. Pavlova probably the most beautifully presented/ plates? Can’t complain but again, pavlovas are really just egg whites and sugar….So yeah, we won’t be going back. You can totally make all of the dishes yourself at home for 20% of the price ?Or go to Collective Goods…. Or Straight Marrow (much better value guaranteed!
We went there for a chef's table experience despite a negative review on this experience recently. I do think they took in the feedback...because we had a phenomenal experience. It's impressive what they are able to create from a tiny kitchen. I definitely recommend the sake/wine pairing. We discovered some new types of sake and wine that we have not had before. The hostess took her time explaining each dish and wine. And coming from NY the price for the quality of meal and experience felt very reasonable!
We had the pleasure of dining here based on a friend's recommendation, and we are thrilled we took their advice. The service surpassed our expectations. Our server, Jordan, was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also engaging and delightful to converse with. If you are in the area, worth checking it out although would be mindful of walking down Hastings Street which felt very uncomfortable to walk down given the crowd.
This spot is great for larger groups and especially if you like sampling. We had a group of 9 and sampled for over 2 hrs! Great variety, superb flavours and left full and happy!
