Chaotic loads of empty tables inside, but the host made us wait 15 mins and then offered to put us on the end of a table which was already occupied and has been since we went in. Bizarre. The place in a shadowy back of beyond location with lower footfall than practically anywhere else on the mountain. Go to The Igloo instead. View all feedback.
Bene, andiamo.
I'm not much of a critic, but this place deserves it. we were torn up for a ski tour and I found this place online and told my friends that we had to make the first day mission to find this place in the Italian alps. we came back to this restaurant for 4 of the 5 days. How legendary is it that they can drive from Switzerland to italia ski to get pizza and fresh made pasta in a ski-in-ski-out, authentic Italian restaurant? we were just a few young American tourists, but the personal treated us like family. they were so incredibly welcoming, polite and even gave us a free shot of genepi (a digestive case similar to grappa) before we leave the restaurant to return to the pists. the pizza was fantastic, and the pasta carbonara was amazingly good. I can't recommend this place enough. while I can't say that I would fly into the alps, just to go to this restaurant, I can say that I will return to cermatt instead of exploring other European ski areas, because as amazing this place is (destined was also great, fantastic skiing and beautiful city)
We stopped by for lunch while skiing from Zermatt to Cervinia. Group of 6 adults. What a treat. The pizza was outstanding. Polenta e funghi and calzone excellent as well. A bottle of prosecco hit the spot. What really distinguished our lunch was the delightful service. Clearly a family run spot that felt very homey. At the end of the meal, our hostess brought out a bottle of homemade schnapps from her father who founded the restaurant. We felt really fortunate to have stopped here for lunch.
Fantastic pizzas, salads, soup, pasta. Wonderfully friendly and accommodating staff. Lunch here made our day! Just at the bottom of the small three person chair. Well worth a visit. Thank you!!
Best pizza this Holliday! Very happy to be stranded here. Kind staff, pizza’s were delicious, as were the desserts and coffee. Wil definitely come back here next year!!
