Absolutely fabulous trip to Italy. We love food And drinks And great nightlife So we had Amazing time here with all support.
Lots of bars run well in ski resorts. Surely the priority is getting food beer out quickly. Multiple problems were occuring of that nature whilst I was at the bar. Firstly you had to order electronically and pay separately (ala McDonald’s). Then queue at the bar. Anyways pleasant place to sit outside.
The kitchen was closed. The only available food was pizza. The pizza was fantastic. Two days later..... I once ate a pizza It was made of cheese And it was so good I ate it all up And I wanted more !!! Una volta ho mangiato una pizza Era fatto di formaggio Ed è stato così bello L'ho mangiato tutto E volevo di più
My husband and I came here for pizza lunch. Having been here many times previously, we were entirely confident that we would have good experience both in terms of food quality and service. It was peak time for lunch service and we did observe that staff numbers were somewhat reduced from previous years. Those who were on duty were good humoured and attentive, despite being extremely busy and under pressure to take and fulfil food and beverage orders promptly. Our order did take rather longer than usual to arrive but as we were on holiday with no deadlines or other demands on our time, we accepted the delay as a minor matter. When our pizza was served, it was as good as always. Probably the best in Cervinia and definitely worth the wait. We reasoned that the staffing levels here in Lino’s were very similar to those experienced everywhere in the hospitality industry post pandemic. “Recruitment and retention of good staff is very difficult” is a statement we’ve heard quoted many times both within and outside the UK. We understand that the reasons for this are multi faceted and can’t be solved overnight. However as customers we believe we can help in small effortless ways by exercising a little extra patience and certainly by being civil towards staff doing their best to provide a good service. The only negative thing about our lunchtime visit was witnessing another British customer verbally abusing a waitress because she felt she’d waited too long for her order. The waitress appeared stunned and upset after being so castigated, then took a while to recompose herself. We felt nothing but empathy for this poor girl who was not responsible for the time taken for food to be cooked. In this moment we were ashamed to be British. Upon leaving the restaurant we were moved to apologise to the waitress for the attitude and behaviour of our compatriot, in the hope that her self esteem could be restored. Is it small wonder that staffing in hospitality is so bad! Who would want to be subjected to such poor treatment?
Whilst we were waiting for our kids to come back from ski school my friend and I went to get a table for the 9 of us for lunch. We were shown to a table and waited patiently for a drink despite asking several times. After about 10 minutes the manager or owner came over and told us we had 5 minutes for everyone to turn up otherwise we had to leave. He also said we had taken someone else’s table despite the fact that the waitress had shown us to our table. He was unbelievably rude and had no customer service skills whatsoever. The table next to us were astonished about how he spoke to us. Admittedly it took another 1/2 hour or so for all our party to turn up but we ordered our food and got our drinks etc (at the point of ordering there were several dishes that we were told were not available to order). Our food took at least an hour to arrive (we got the feeling that the manager/owner told the kitchen to take their time). When it did arrive it wasn’t quite right but we ate nonetheless and it was actually quite tasty. We did ask for the missing burger but it took so long that we eventually complained which culminated in the owner/manager telling us to leave. We offered to pay for what we had had but he was adamant we had to leave and he did want our money. A real shame as the waiting staff were pleasant which is amazing as it must be hard working for someone who has no interpersonal skills whatsoever Needless to say we won’t be back…. Real shame as it in a great spot…
