The food is delicious and excellent value, in lovely surroundings, with great friendly service. Such an unexpected and delightful find in this quiet and beautiful little village.

Although France has improved its catering for vegetarians, I am largely restricted to a diet of pizza and chips. What a breath of fresh air then, to stumble on... read more Although France has improved its catering for vegetarians, I am largely restricted to a diet of pizza and chips. What a breath of fresh air then, to stumble on this little cafe in the tiny hamlet of Vals. Our Dutch waitress was delightful and spoke fluent English. She accommodated our party of 6, passing pilgrims, locals and other holiday makers with ease. I was delighted to have a choice of foods, with vege tapas and salads. It was also possible to mix and match, as the salads came in 2 different sizes. I also think that this would be a wonderful place to spend a dark, winter's evening, sitting near the log burner, playing some of the board games that were available or bashing out some tunes on the piano.
