Los Porteños 2 - Valparaiso

My farewell dinner in Valparaiso, a Chupe de mariscos. What a treat. I made the mistake not to check with them when they take visa. But Carlos and his wife allowed me a money transfer with my computer to pay the bill. The food in this place is very fresh and tasty. I spent a total of $25 on this meal.

Great seafood, although I personally was not a fan of her version of Pastel de jaiba. I had even more beautiful versions.

Good not good food with excellent service. We were two for dinner on a week. The place was almost empty, so we got very good service. We split a sequence of fried hake with onions and chips. Fish was a bit thin and greasy but delicious. With half a bottle of wine, about 18,000 pesos. Decor is dark and rustic but clean. Only cash. Cats everywhere. Recommended.

With great nostalgia and sadness I write this review as it is a must, I had great memories of this restaurant Los porteños every single trip we ever did to valparaiso was always topped off with a visit to this place, where the food was always abundant and most importantly fresh! Fast forward several years and I have brought my own family from abroad to lunch, speaking of the goodness of this place. What a huge let down, the food took forever to arrive at our table, The standard below average, and my husbands mariscal frio was all out of a can and not fresh! Incredible that they think people would not realise! Massive let down, high prices I truly feel ripped off, not to mention they impose like as if it were mandatory the tip of close to $6000 pesos. 2 stars for our waitress who was attentive , other than that this place is a huge flop, stear clear, Many other wonderful places to eat nearby Hence, we will not be returning A shame, and in my opinion, the end of greatness.

Price is way to high for quality of food. This is my second and my last. The first time my order never came through. Not to mention I sick the second time coming here. Highly not recommended unless you got some antibiotics on you because you will need them.
