Was Bruce Reyes-Chow at Cafe 22 a mag?
Stumbled upon Cafe 22 when my daughter had to be in Vallejo for the day. Glad we did. The vibe was very local and the staff was really friendly. I had the Roast Beef Sandwich and my daughter had the Turkey Avocado Sandwich. Both were huge. In fact, if you could have TOO much meat, came pretty close. They were mostly empty and it took 20 minutes to get our sandwiches. Wife ordered the salami sandwich and it was served hot. Became a mess of grease. I ordered the Cuban and was not happy. Menu says it has Dijon mustard but it was a horseradish mustard. Also came with mayo on it but that was not listed on the menu. I enjoyed a delicious pastrami sandwich at this restaurant. The staff was friendly, and the outdoor patio was pleasant. I noticed they have a smoker on-site, where they prepare their own fresh meat! The kitchen area was very clean, and it appeared to be equipped with brand new appliances and a stainless steel stove, signaling that they are ready to cook up some fresh dishes!

We had lunch at Cafe 22 today and the sandwich was amazing! The portions are so big that we could have easily shared one. The ingredients were fresh and full of flavor. We definitely plan to return!

The atmosphere is relaxed, and it's wonderful to see locals opening up another great spot for a bite to eat. Today, I tried their Cubano, and it was delicious! I was so full afterward that I had to take a nap, haha!
