Quality traditional Lyonnais cork cuisine in a warm atmosphere and pleasant service. I highly recommend booking. Just a small downside, the wine list is limited in choice... some emblematic wines are missing to accompany all these delicious dishes... Kid-friendliness: Children are accepted but it is more of a restaurant for friends and epicureans. Wheelchair accessibility: Access ramp present outside and inside for a... View all feedback.
What Isabelle Maurice doesn't like about Cafe du Rhone:
Passer votre chemin.
If you have never experienced the atmosphere of a "Bouchon Lyonnais", take a small detour from Geneva to experience the real thing. Cozy atmosphere where tables are pushed close together so patrons can meet and talk and exchange ideas and feelings. Decor includes antique Lyonnais marionettes hung on the wall.Be ready for a hearty meal - chef Jean-Marc Roman serves up classic Lyonnais dishes like veal sweetbreads with morel-cream sauce accompanied by a gratin of pasta with cream; and andouillette in a mustard sauce with classic gratin of potatoes made in Lyonnais style (lots of garlic and cream). Beautiful starters like home-made foie-gras and "peasant" salad with mixed greens, bacon and eggs.I do not know where Roman finds the stellar but reasonably priced Cotes du Rhone wines he serves by the carafe, but it is worth the trip just for that.Great value at 31 euros for a three-course meal at dinner time.
This is my local caf! It is very nice! Good quality cooking and walking distane from the house and it is open Monday when all else is closed! Cuisine Lyonnaise of a high standard. It is not a large place and the interior is quaint. Booking recommended as it gets full at lunchtime with local workers.

We discovered this pleasant cafe ( bouchon lyonnais ) by chance and we came away pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and excellent service. As it was a sunny day we sat on the terrace at the back ( access via the kitchen ), it was like eating in the garden and very sheltered, good atmosphere. The tables inside are typical but outside is certainly cosy. Good choice of food and also special dishes off the menu. Menu is 32Euros for 4 courses and well worth the money. Wine is very reasonably priced. Typical Lyonnais food, nicely presented.
