Was PKC54 at Baluarte a mag?
On a quiet Monday night we visited this restaurant in the walled old town. The service was exceptional and we chose some nice red wine to accompany our large meals. We were given a complimentary starter of olives and delicious sausage. We had the tasty roast chicken dish and the farmers meat plate. Way too big but we put a good dent on these dishes. What stuartaf73 dislikes about Baluarte:
It was raining so we ducked in here for a lazy lunch. Food looks great, but that is about it. No flavour....we had roast goat. It must have been a skinny goat that died of old age. All we were served was bone with skin on....gross. Over priced for what you get. Also note that it fills up with very noisy Spanish families (at list it did this Sunday) View all feedback.

We stayed 2 nights within the fort and tried 3 different restaurants. Though they mostly sell the same type of food, all of us unanimously agreed that restaurante Baluarte served the tastiest Portuguese dishes among the three restaurants. The portions are very generous and very tasty! We had the grilled sardines dish which was extremely delicious and fresh and the seafood rice was very appetizing!!! The dessert was also very good! The service was fantastic too! The waiter was extremely attentive and very patient with us! All in all, we had a great meal and a wonderfully enjoyable time there! Though it was posh looking, it was very affordable for the amount served and definitely value for money! We highly recommend this restaurant!!!
