Sonny's Bbq - Valdosta

I took my daughter and enkelin to eat today on the way to florida. the restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. our server, kimberly, was fabulous! it was efficient, friendly and attentive. I never had to ask for a refill and when my enkelin began to curse? she assured my daughter with layers of her own big children and how it was not a big thing. the food came out quickly and hot! they love the briskit and the ribs fell from the bone! the bill was a bit high, but every penny worth it! we love sonnys and we will definitely come back when we are in the city!

I went to Sonny’s the other day to order take out and when walking in I was greeted with a smile from a very informative register lady, I think her name was Ashley she helped me with the menu and provided a great take out experience to help me get my food and get back to work before my lunch break was over. She recommended some great pulled chicken and tater tots to go with it and it was so good! It was my first time in and I would definitely go back because of the take out experience I had, I will definitely be dining in soon!

We ordered a big sampler and sliced pork plate. We like their sliced pork plate best among what they have. Its spicy and sweet sauce is pretty good. But the chicken is dry. I tried their chicken two times and both time were disappointed. Not gonna order chicken again. Their fries are dry and soggy but the coleslaw is good. Their food quality is not consistent. The service is good.

We are Sonny's fans going back 30 years. We do not have one in our state, but we normally find ourselves eating at Sonny's 5-10 times a year in various locations. We visited Sonny's Valdosta, GA the day after Thanksgiving about 1:00 PM. We were a party of two and we were taken care of well by our waitress. The food was great, as expected and we enjoyed it very much. I had the AYCE dry rub ribs and they were fantastic. These ribs had more fat on them than any ribs I have every eaten at Sonny's. More fat is super fine by me, but I wonder if this is a permanent change or if maybe they had to purchase from a different supplier in these strange supply chain times. Either way, we will be back to Sonny's again and again.

This was the first time we had visited this location in several years and they had revamped the entrance and dining room since we last came. We tried several different options from the menu, all were excellent with no disappointments. The Cuban sandwich especially was a pleasant surprise. Portions overall were quite large, although the total bill was slightly more than I liked (but with inflation and a party of five it wasn't totally unexpected). Service was pretty fast, friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend
