Description

A quirky supper-club hybrid known for outstanding prime rib, an abundant soup-and-salad bar (fresh rolls, cheese spread, hot bacon dressing) and occasional inventive Japanese/Chinese touches. Food quality is hit-or-miss—some dishes excel while others are greasy, dry or over-battered—and bar prices feel high. Service varies from friendly to brusque, and serious cleanliness and pest reports temper the praise. A beloved local spot for some, but inconsistent execution and service keep others away.

We have visited this restaurant a few times for their Saturday Night Prime Rib special, which is outstanding. However, during our recent visit, we discovered they weren't offering that special at the moment. So, we decided to try the Ribeye and bacon-wrapped scallops. The steak was excellent, but the scallops were topped with a cheese sauce that I found inedible; it was almost like hollandaise sauce, but it wasn’t mentioned in the menu description. On the bright side, the staff was very friendly, and the variety of soups and salads at the bar was impressive, especially the hot bacon dressing.

Wanted to try a different place and hadn't been here for years. The salad bar was great with makings for spinach salad with bacon dressing. The rolls weree the freshest I've ever had. Ordered the Prime rib with Tempura shrimp. For a combo dinner, portions were ok. I'm not fond of battered seafood and had hoped the shrimp would be thinly coated. The tempura seemed a little thick. Prices are in line with other places we've visited.

Absolutely delicious! I tried the Spicy Trio, and it exceeded my expectations! Helen, one of the owners, is quite the personality—she really adds to the experience!

Ordered one chop and fried rice. Chop was very fatty and what meat was there was ok. The fried rice very dry and no flavor at all. Salad bar was good. The server never came to our table but to deliver meal and give us the bill. Never got a thank you from anyone. Sometimes the food is great but this time not and service not great... depends on what you order I guess.
