Willows - Valders
Willows
Description
A quirky supper-club hybrid known for outstanding prime rib, an abundant soup-and-salad bar (fresh rolls, cheese spread, hot bacon dressing) and occasional inventive Japanese/Chinese touches. Food quality is hit-or-miss—some dishes excel while others are greasy, dry or over-battered—and bar prices feel high. Service varies from friendly to brusque, and serious cleanliness and pest reports temper the praise. A beloved local spot for some, but inconsistent execution and service keep others away.

I found this restaurant to be quite unkempt. The bathrooms were not only dirty but also had a horrible odor. When I raised these concerns with the owner, she was rather unfriendly. I also noticed how she interacted with her employees, and it was definitely not pleasant. Additionally, I've heard unsettling stories, including a dead rat found behind the stove and a customer finding mouse droppings. I absolutely won't be coming back, and I think the prices are far too high for the quality they offer.
The staff was very friendly, and the duck was exceptional. I'm excited to come back on January 9th!
We have visited this restaurant a few times for their Saturday Night Prime Rib special, which is outstanding. However, during our recent visit, we discovered they weren't offering that special at the moment. So, we decided to try the Ribeye and bacon-wrapped scallops. The steak was excellent, but the scallops were topped with a cheese sauce that I found inedible; it was almost like hollandaise sauce, but it wasn’t mentioned in the menu description. On the bright side, the staff was very friendly, and the variety of soups and salads at the bar was impressive, especially the hot bacon dressing.
