The menu features gourmet dishes such as fondue and seafood, with delicious sauces. Prices are higher but reflect the quality. The staff is attentive and professional, though service can be hit or miss. The decor is elegant and top-notch. Overall, the food is outstanding, from escargots to steak tartare, and the desserts are a must-try. The menu is also available in the hotel's lounge for a more casual dining experience. A fantastic dining option for upscale French cuisine.
Nearest place to my hotel. Excellent menu totally professional staff and absolutely what you would expect from a top French restaurant. Nice steak, fois gras, good wine and outanding service.
Situated in the L'Escale Hotel, this restaurant exudes an elegant charm and offers top-notch gourmet dishes with a welcoming touch. The escargots and steak tartare are simply divine, as are their delectable desserts. The service is extremely professional, customer-focused, and friendly. For those in a rush or seeking a more casual dining experience, the same menu is offered in the hotel's bar lounge. We loved our meal so much that we dined there twice to indulge in more delicious food, including their fantastic poutine.
My first trips to Val d'Or involved extended stays at this hotel and many meals at The Cannon. Very classic French food, and although some of the wait staff lean away from English, most are very accommodating. The food is always a pleasure. I personally enjoy what has been a consistently reliable wine menu.
The food itself was superb: perfectly cooked rare deer plus interesting duck confit. Others found their meals with salmon and tuna just as good. Very good wine selections and attentive service despite being busy. Very staid atmosphere with elderly staff and immaculate white linen.
We love eating here. It's relaxing and the food is great. The staff is very nice. You should try the fondu. Mmmmmm!
